- Description
- NIST requires a five (5) year contract for membership to the iNEMI (the International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative). NIST currently has a membership that expires in 2022. iNEMI is a non-profit, international, R&D consortium of leading electronics manufacturers, suppliers, associations, government agencies and universities. It is based in Morrisville, NC, but has regional offices in Asia and Europe, and is led by an international board of directors who represents a cross-section of the electronics manufacturing industry.Membership benefits include access to the iNEMI technology roadmap of the sector's needs, which has been refreshed about every 2 years since 1996. iNEMI uses the roadmap to define and run projects which address the issues identified. While the road mapping process is open to anyone, only iNEMI members may participate in the projects or the organization's Board of Directors or Technical Committee. NIST participates in all of these activities, serving on both the Board and TC, leading and participating in road mapping, and collaborating with industry on iNEMl-run projects. iNEMI is uniquely qualified to provide membership services to the NIST organizational units and has unique capabilities to assist in the accomplishment of the NIST objectives. Common characteristics that make an organization unique include specific technology, research and/or academic knowledge and possession of a unique network of qualified individuals and organizations. The networks that the membership provides are integral in supporting NISTs research and broadening the spectrum of available resources to maintain NISTs role as a world-class organization. If NIST is not allowed to procure this membership, it will lose valuable relationships/partnerships and opportunities to collaborate with other experts in fields that directly assist in the accomplishment of NIST mission. As iNEMI is the only company authorized to provide this membership, this is considered a soles source. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 813920; Professional Organizations. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responsible sources interested may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider responses received by established due date/time set forth in this notice. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to Elizabeth.timberlake@nist.gov . No telephone requests will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
