- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for60 HC2A-S3 Humidity/Air Temp Probes and Interface Cables for meteorology for The National Data Buoy Center at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The Governments intends to make an award to the responsive responsible quoter providing the best value in accordance with FAR 13.106-2(B)(3). TheRotronic humidity probes beingprocured arereplacing identical parts thatare over 5-years old, lost at sea, or damaged beyond repair. Hence, it is imperative that the 60 HC2A-S3 probes and the associated accessories to be used in TAO array and in coastal weather buoys continue to be the Rotronic brand. The selection of an alternate brand of relative humidity and air temperature sensor would result in extensive laboratory and field testing before it could be used on an operational station. This includes the side-by-side testing of full systems (buoy hull/mast, and full payload and sensor suite) since the TAO payloads are not equipped to add extra humidity sensors which would easily exceed a cost of $100k.The purchase of other alternate brands couldresult in sensors suffering premature failure rates, sensor corrosion, and inaccurate data. Accuracy is of utmostimportance and necessary to protect life and property. Quotes in response to this solicitation shall be submitted electronically via email to the Government representative, Alexyss Ermert, Contract Specialist, Alexyss.Ermert@noaa.gov.It is the Offerors responsibility to ensure that any submission transmitted to the specified Government representative(s) is received prior to the due date specified herein.Offerors are highly encouraged to contact the Government representative(s) specified above prior to the solicitations stated time and date for receipt of offers to ensure the Government has received the submission. Offers received after the date and time specified in this solicitation may be excluded from consideration. DOC, Eastern Region Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made to a company not registered in SAM. Contractors active in SAM have a unique entity identifier (UEI) that is used to do business with the federal government. The Government has moved to a free new, non-proprietary identifier that will have to be requested in, and assigned by, the System for Award Management (SAM.gov). Youcan register and access the site by going to www.sam.gov.
