- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) intends to solicit for the procurement of waterjet and impeller shaft assemblies aboard Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) 2 Class hulls. Waterjet and impeller shaft assemblies are essential components to the propulsion system aboard LCS-2 Class hulls. The Navy manages spare pools for propulsion equipment including waterjet and impeller shaft assemblies, this requirement will be utilized to increase the spare pool of assemblies managed to support LCS-2 Class hulls. This solicitation is expected to result in a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) to Defense Maritime Solutions, Inc. (DMS). The ordering period is anticipated to be sixty (60) months. It is the Government's intention to procure these supplies, utilizing other than full and open competition, from DMS IAW FAR 6.302-1, as only DMS meets the Government�s requirements. The Government does not have sufficient data rights to allow for competition. NSWCPD intends to issue a solicitation to the specified vendor to meet mission requirements. This procurement action is being conducted in accordance with FAR 16.703. Furthermore, this procurement is being processed through other than full and open competition pursuant to the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and does not constitute a solicitation. However, all information received prior to the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
