Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service intends to award a firm fixed price contract for 125 Iridium Modems, Model 9602N for The National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The NDBC needs these modems to be programed and whitelisted for use on the DOD gateway. The Governments intends to make an award to the responsive responsible quoter providing the best value in accordance with FAR 13.106-2(B)(3). This acquisition is firm-fixed-price and solicited on a Brand Name in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1),�for Iridium Communications Inc. model 9602N short burst Iridium data modems. These modems are to replace units that are several years old. The Iridium satellite network is the largest commercial communications satellite network that provides coverage over both land and sea. Iridium modems provide the means to return the weather and climate data collected from the TAO buoys deployed around the equator back to the NDBC in near real time.� Quotes in response to this solicitation shall be submitted electronically via email to the Government representative, Alexyss Ermert, Contract Specialist, Alexyss.Ermert@noaa.gov. It is the Offeror�s responsibility to ensure that any submission transmitted to the specified Government representative(s) is received prior to the due date specified herein. Offerors are highly encouraged to contact the Government representative(s) specified above prior to the solicitation�s stated time and date for receipt of offers to ensure the Government has received the submission. Offers received after the date and time specified in this solicitation may be excluded from consideration. DOC, Eastern Region Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made to a company not registered in SAM. Contractors active in SAM have a unique entity identifier (UEI) that is used to do business with the federal government. The Government has moved to a free new, non-proprietary identifier that will have to be requested in, and assigned by, the System for Award Management (SAM.gov).
