Description
The U.S Forest Service is in need of services to clean and inspect their 10,000 gallon underground drinking water storage tank at Klipchuck Campground in the Methow Valley Ranger District. Decription The water storage tank to be cleaned and inspected is a 10,000 nominal gallon 1/4' steel tank. Approximate dimensions of the tank are 96-inch diameter (vertical dimension) by 30-feet length (horizontal dimension). Access is through a manhole cover and ladder. The entrance is approximately 25-inches in diameter. The tank currently has an unknown quantity of sediment settled on the bottom of the tank, which needs to be removed. The interior of the tank needs to be cleaned, and the tank needs to be inspected. When completed, water from the tank must pass drinking water standards including coliform and nitrates. The USFS will shock the water system after completion of the work. Prior to contractor work, the tank can be either filled with water or drained. Cleaning and inspecting can take place with the tank filled with water or drained, depending on methodology preferred by contractor. Location The location of the tank is at the Klipchuck Campground, which is approximately 19 miles from Winthrop, WA via WA-20 and USFS road 300 and 320. Lat/Long for the tank: 48.60172, -120.51807 The utility road 320 is gated, and USFS staff will be present to allow access. This access road is narrow and has a turn-around location which is sufficient for standard 2-axel trucks. The closest vehicle access is 80-ft from the tank entrance. The site is typically inaccessible due to snow from November 1 through May 15. Gate and manhole cover are both locked with USFS lock, and USFS staff will provide access. If Interested, Please see attached RFQ for Details and submit your offer to mindy.hickman@usda.gov before 1700 29 MAY 2023
