- N0016423SNB78 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/SOURCES SOUGHT � AA17 5.56 MK 255 Mod1 Ammunition - PSC 1305 - NAICS 332992 Issued Date: 18 May 2023 - Closing Date: 01 Jun 2023 MARKET SURVEY - SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: The Government is issuing this RFl/sources sought announcement as part of market survey for AA17 5.56 MK 255 Mod1 Ammunition. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division located at Naval Support Activity, Crane, IN. This effort is underway to gauge potential interest, establish the current state of industry, and assist in specification refinement and validation resulting in a competitive, five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract estimated at $30 million dollars.� Additionally, this sources sought announces the Government�s intent to pursue an interim contract for the ammunition on a sole source basis from Black Hills Ammunition, 1699 Sedivy LN, Rapid City, South Dakota, 57703 in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B).� The Government�s full intent is to award a two-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract, valued at $2.5 million dollars to Black Hills Ammunition to allow time for sufficient competition and testing requirements. The Government is interested in cartridges that can meet specification and drawings for the future competitive action. NSWC Crane is interested in receiving feedback and product information from industry.� A technical description of the product(s), such as physical characteristics, operational features, performance/test data, and photographs are of particular interest to assist in establishing the state of industry. Interested vendor(s) may request a copy of the applicable specifications and applicable drawings through SAM.gov.� Vendor(s) must be registered in Joint Certification Program (JCP) to be eligible to review the applicable specification and drawings. Responses should include the following: technical data sheets, technology readiness level, availability, budgetary cost estimate, lead time of the solution, as well as whether a demonstration can be provided to expedite the decision-making process. This submission may be in the form of product literature, operating instructions, and/or supplemental technical documentation that define the item(s) and associated hardware. Potential sources should provide any delivery, shipping or warranty information. Responses from Small and Small Disadvantaged Business firms are highly encouraged. Firms responding should indicate if they are a small business, a socially and economically disadvantaged business, 8(a) firms, historically black colleges or universities, and minority institutions. This sources sought synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ), or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract.
