Description
1.0�� �DESCRIPTION The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP), plans to procure services, on a sole source basis, from the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown River North | 600 N. State St., Chicago, IL 60654. The response close date of the notice for this requirement is in accordance with FAR 5.203(b). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1)(i); and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System code is 721110 and the small business size standard is $40 million. It has been determined there are no opportunities to acquire green products or services for this procurement.� 2.0�� �BACKGROUND The mission of CTEP is to improve the lives of cancer patients by finding better ways to treat, control and cure cancer. �CTEP accomplishes this mission by funding an extensive national program of cancer research and by sponsoring clinical trials to evaluate new cancer anti-cancer agents, with a particular emphasis on translational research to elucidate molecular targets and mechanisms of drug effects. �CTEP attempts to forge broad collaborations, including international collaborations. �CTEP supports NCI�s clinical research via networks specializing in both early and late phase clinical trials conducted with the extramural community and industry partners. �The ASCO annual meeting brings together more than 25,000 oncology professionals from a broad range of specialties from North America as well as the rest of the world, making it an excellent venue for CTEP program staff overseeing NCI-supported clinical trials to meet and discuss the latest clinical findings in cancer. �The venue of meetings at ASCO allows an unparalleled opportunity for NCI staff to address key issues affecting NCI programs and to make decisions regarding strategy, prioritization of research questions, and study operations related to ongoing and future clinical trials in a timely manner, especially with respect to late breaking research presented at the annual meeting. CTEP requires the use of conference meeting rooms with associated audiovisual and communication equipment. NCI will hold meetings with academic and clinical investigators, industry partners, patient advocates and other oncology professions involved in clinical trials at the American Society of Clinical Oncologists (ASCO) Annual Meeting. 3.0�� �TYPE OF ORDER This is a Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order. 4.0�� �SPECIAL ORDER REQUIREMENTS The Contractor shall provide a series of conference meetings rooms between the hours of 7:00 AM, Friday, June 2, 2023 through 9:00 PM Sunday, June 4, 2023 with an expected attendance of approximately 200 participants throughout each day. 4.1�� �REQUIRED ITEMS �� � Conference meeting rooms ��� �LCD projector ��� �Screen ��� �Podium with microphone ��� �Wireless remote to advance slides ��� �Table mics (1 mic per two people) ��� �Internet line at podium ��� �Power around the table for meeting attendees to plug in laptops ��� �Teleconference equipment ��� �Outside phone line ��� �internet microphones to support a hybrid (onsite & virtual) meeting 5.0�� �PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE The period of performance is Friday, June 2, 2023 through Sunday, June 4, 2023. 6.0�� �PLACE OF PERFORMANCE Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown River North, 600 N. State Street, Chicago, IL 60654 5.0�� �UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CONTRACTOR Embassy Suites was chosen by the ASCO as the location for the 2023 Annual meeting. Ancillary meeting space has to be requested and approved by ASCO. NCI was assigned space at the Embassy Suites. �In order to participate in the meeting, NCI must reserve space within the same location as the Annual meeting. 6.0�� �SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirements, it may submit a proposal or quote for the Government to consider. The response and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NCI to determine if the party can perform the requirement. �All responses and questions must be sent via email to the Contract Specialist, Dana Summons, at dana.summons@nih.gov by no later than 3:00 PM EST on March 30, 2023, (3/30/2023). A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to receive an award, Contractors must be registered and have valid certification through SAM.gov. Reference: 75N91023Q00098 on all correspondence.
