Description
Questions and Answers: What is an average inpatient census nightly at the hospital that MOD has to cross cover? Answer: As of 6/14/23, about 150 in CLC, 85-90 in RRTP and 10 in acute psych. As we continue to reopen services with the PHE ending, we would have capacity up to 225 in CLC, 148 in RRTP and 15 in acute psych. The census changes nearly every day. Approximately how many patient calls do MOD receive per night from inpatients and CLC? Answer: Very dependent on the day, could range from 1-2 or as high as 10-15. Weekends and Holidays are 24 hours so call volume could increase during those longer shifts. Is MOD responsible to cover any codes or rapid responses? Answer: Yes, that occur during their tour of duty, they would respond. Is MOD Responsible to cover Mental health department which has 148 beds? Answer: Yes. Is there any other physician or mid-level provider available in addition to MOD that covers the inpatients? Answer: Only on call and for very limited items. Is there a dedicated call room for a MOD in the hospital? Answer: Yes. For continuity and ease of staffing, would VA allow to have one provider scheduled for a 48-hour call during the weekend? Answer: Yes. Are you requesting coverage for all 365 days in this contract or is it as needed hours only? Answer: All 365 days. 16 hours weekday shifts and 24-hour shifts on weekends and Holidays. Would you evaluate a physician's presented proposal more than a NP/PA presentation? How is the proposal evaluation compared between MD vs PA/NP as they are very different? Answer: All providers (MD/NP/PA/DO) would go through the same credentialing and privileging process. How many beds/patients census for acute care unit? Answer: See answer 1 for the answer to number 10. How many beds in ICU, is it open or closed, are there intensivists on staff? Answer: The St. Cloud VA does not have ICU beds. How is it covered? Is it covered by telehealth? Answer: All shifts are covered in person and on site. What are the hours for urgent care? Answer: 0800am-1800pm, 365 days a year.
