- This Notice of Intent to award a sole source firm fixed purchase order is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisition Services (OAS) on behalf the National Institute for Occupations Safety & Health (NIOSH), Health Effects Laboratory Division (HELD).� NIOSH has a requirement for the computer airflow modeling and simulation of aerosol transmission under representative indoor environmental conditions. CFD can be useful in investigating a range of school classroom and office scenarios that are not available for experiments due to space and time constraints. The results will create detailed information of non-uniform flow and aerosol distributions and visualizations that will provide a better understanding of airflow patterns and behavior of aerosol particles around humans in school settings. The period of performance is August 30, 2023 � July 31, 2025.� The intended recipient of this purchase order is: Pennsylvania State University, 201 Old Main, University Park, PA 16802. This order is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice; however, all quotations/responses received will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Responses should be emailed to emailed to Carla Jenkins-Smith, Contract Specialist at qna3@cdc.gov by August 8, 2023, 5PM EDT. No telephonic quotes will be accepted.
