DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS Justification for Single Source Awards IAW FAR 13.106-1 For Over Micro-Purchase Threshold but Not Exceeding the SAT ($250K) Acquisition Plan Action ID: 36C241-23-AP-3532 Contracting Activity: Network Contracting Office 1, Regional Procurement Office East on behalf of the Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 1, West Roxbury VA Medical Center, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132-4927. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: This is a new, brand name requirement. The Contracting Activity is seeking to obtain delivery and training for (2) MRidium MRI Infusion Systems with SpO2 manufactured by small business IRADIMED CORPORATION, 1025 WILLA SPRINGS DR, WINTER SPRINGS, FL, 32708 (UEI XUFTRBBCDYH7) for West Roxbury VA Medical Center. The MRIdium pump will only be utilized on patients who require continually and accurately measured amounts medication, it will not be used for patients who only require an IV bag of fluids. The infusion pump does not connect or interact with any other electronic or IT systems, it is a self-contained unit. The estimated amount of the proposed action is $____________. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: The MRidium 3860+ MRI IV Infusion System meets the demanding clinical needs of today s patients, by allowing continuous delivery of fluids and medication throughout the MRI care cycle. The non-magnetic design allows the MRidium infusion pump to operate safely in ultra-high magnetic fields without the need for workarounds typically required with traditional infusion pumps. The Iradimed MRIdium 3960+ Infusion Pump is proprietary to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Iradimed. Iradimed s MRIdium 3860+ Infusion Pump is the only infusion pump compatible for use with existing infusion pump systems currently in place at VAMC West Roxbury. The Iradimed brand is the world s only Non-Magnetic MRI Infusion pump. The MRidium 3860+ infusion pump system incorporates a non-magnetic motor and non-ferrous components to ensure the safe and predictable delivery of IV fluids, such as anesthesia, during MRI procedures. With a wide range of infusion rates, the system can be used to sedate patients for an MRI or deliver sustained medications for critically ill patients. The device includes Iradimed s Dose Error Reduction System (DERS) software, which enhances patient safety and makes it easier for caregivers to administer intravenous meds. The software allows users to program a drug library for each patient and to set up hard and soft limits for the dose and concentration of drugs. This is the only FDA approved i-med pump which is compatible with the MRI environment. Since this requirement is above $25,000 a Sources Sought, Notice was published to Contract Opportunities on 06/20/2023 to 06/27/2023, however 0 responses were received. The manufacturer SB Iradimed states that they work with SDVOSB Veterans Healthcare Supply Solutions.
