- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Rural Development (RD) awarded a $7,217,901 Performance-Based, Firm-Fixed Price contract for Self-Help Technical and Management Assistance to nonprofit LIFT Community Action Agency for Region 2 South Central. Region 2 comprises eleven states and fifteen grantees (AR, KS, LA, MO, NE, ND, NM, OK, SD, TX, and WY). The purpose of this effort is to provide labor, management, supervision, quality control, materials, equipment, and local transportation necessary for delivery of training and technical assistance to �grantee� organizations that assist very low and low-income families located in rural areas with the goal to get affordable, clean, and safe homes of their own in rural areas. The period of performance is seven-month base period and four twelve months option periods. This contract was issued under the sole source authority 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, titled ""Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.""
