THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE � THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT�S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY FOR CAS SCIFINDER DATABASE SUBSCRIPTION. The United States Department of Defense (DoD), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Services (WHS/AD), on behalf of The Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to American Chemical Society (1115 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20036) for Chemical Abstract Service�s (CAS) SciFinder Database tool. DTSA has a requirement to purchase CAS SciFinder subscriptions so DTSA can monitor and analyze real-time chemical and scientific information. CAS SciFinder is a source for authoritatively identifying a chemical substance and its related chemical structures, chemical names, regulatory information, and properties, including CAS Registry Numbers, reaction schemes, step-by-step experimental procedures, detailed conditions, and product yields.� In addition, CAS SciFinder provides the ability to view experimental procedures as well as find information about catalysts, reaction conditions and reagents all in a single source searchable database. The period of performance is estimated to be for a 12-month base period and three (3) 12-month option periods. � This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
