All drawings issued are marked Not for Construction are these the drawings that we are to use to prepare our quote? Will For Construction drawings be issued prior to the bid date? a. See correct Drawings attached to Amendment A0001. Are the drawings available in black and white? The yellow test and graphics is very difficult to read in the drawings that have been issued. a. See correct Drawings attached to Amendment A0001. We have been able to locate TR drawings as well as the campus fiber backbone drawings. However, we have not been able to locate any drawings identifying requirements for new Cat 6A cabling. Is new Cat 6A cabling required to replace existing cabling systems? If so, can you please let me know where I can find the drawings associated with this effort? CAT 6A requirements are outlines in DIV 27 of the Specifications as well as the VA OEHRM Site Infrastructure and End User Device (EUD) Requirements. Division 27 13 23 Paragraph 2.2.6 states to provide OS2 single mode loose tube gel-filled . This cable type does not exist in a plenum version. We believe the description should be corrected to loose tube dry-tape plenum rated. Can you please confirm? Confirmed this should read loose lube dry-Tape and NOT loose lube dry-tape Division 27 16 19 Paragraphs 2.1 and 2.2 identify the requirements for patch cords however, there is no quantifying information on how many should be provided. Are we to provide one work area outlet patch cord and one TR patch cord for each installed Cat 6A cable? Are we to provide one duplex fiber patch cord for each pair of fiber optic strands installed? i.e. a 12-strand fiber optic cable would require (6) duplex patch cords per end. There does not appear to be a requirement for an RCDD project manager in Division 27, is this not a requirement for this project? An RCDD is required, one with the title of PM is not required. How the GC structures their subs is up to them. It appears in the ET-400 series drawings for TR ceiling plans that there is a CCTV camera, are these to be provided as part of the contract? If so, can you please answer the additional questions: Who is the manufacturer of the current video management system?  a. Avigilon Control Center 7 What version is the current video management system operating?  a. 7.14.20.14 Are we expected to support version upgrades as part of this contract? a. No Are there sufficient existing licenses to support the new cameras? a. No, An Enterprise License is needs to be provided per camera. Cameras need to be Avigilon Model H5A or newer for upcoming compliance. Are the cameras to be 2MP pan/tilt/zoom or fixed dome? a. 2MP Fixed dome. Current installs are Avigilon 2.0C-H5A-D1-IR and H6 mini dome 2.0C-H6M-D1-IR. It appears in the ET-400 series drawings for technology plans that there is a card reader/pin pad, are these to be provided as part of the contract? Is so, can you please answer the additional questions: Who is the manufacturer of the current access control system? a. RS2 Access it!, Parent Company now ACRE What version software is the access control system operating? a. 10.1.0 Are we expected to support version updates as part of the contract? a. No Are the sufficient licenses to support the new doors? a. There are no licenses for access control. Availability to install a new reader would vary by location to know if a spare reader port is available or if additional hardware would be needed to tie into the current system. Readers need to be HID PIV Class Keypad Readers or IDENTIV T5 Keypad Readers to work with Version 8.1 PIV Class Cards. Is there any existing integration between the access control and CCTV systems? a. Yes Included in Attachment 1 Specifications and attachments posted to SAM on 8.17.23.  That zip file contains (2) different sets of Division 27 specifications.  1 is dated 11.29.21 and 1 is dated 01.13.23.  Please advise if the Division 27 specifications dated 01.13.23 overrule the set dated 11.29.21 as they containing differing and sometimes conflicting information. The DIV 27 Addendum is the updated DIV 27 specification and takes precedence over and modifies the DIV 27 provided by the A/E in the BID package. Per specification section 27 05 11 1.8 Close Out Submittals a warranty certificate is required close out documentation.  How long of a warranty is required on the structured cabling system? Per specification section 27 15 00 section 2.3 calls for Single Mode fiber to be 12 strands OS1 and 24 strands OS2.  Per drawing C601 Detail 2 Note 1 calls for 24 strand OS2 fiber for A side and drawing C602 Details 1 Note 1 calls for 24 strands OS2 fiber for B side.  Please confirm if drawing should be followed versus specs. Per specification section 27 15 00 both SM and MM fiber shall be armored indoor/outdoor plenum and any fiber ran inside shall be installed in indoor innerduct.  Please confirm innerduct required even though fiber itself is armored. Per specification section 27 15 00 each outdoor conduit should get a minimum of (2) 1 ¼ innerducts.  Per CT series drawings showing outdoor pathways and fiber runs no such innerduct is called out.  Please confirm desired quantity and size for innerduct or fabric innerduct required in outdoor conduit pathways. Per specification section 27 15 00 paragraph 2.1.H states that fiber optic cable shall be factory pre-terminated with MPO.  Due to fiber distances and pathways we don t see this being possible.  Would it instead be approved to fusion splice fiber pigtails for all fiber terminations.  What is the count on horizontal cabling runs per HDA?  On drawing 1.G-001 Sheet Note #1 states data drops are to be installed per schedule in specification section 271510.  That specification section references an excel spreadsheet that is not posted on SAM for review. Current Data Drop Spreadsheet has been provided. Per specification section 271500 fiber is required to be both armored and run inside in innerduct.  Please confirm innerduct required in inside pathways even though fiber itself is armored. Per drawing ET002 Technology General Note 28 calls for 12 Cat6a cables to be ran from each new TR to existing TR.  Per drawing 1.G-001 Key Note 2 calls for 24 Cat6A cables to be ran from each new TR to existing TR.  Which is correct? Drawings don t reference any security system cabling.  Example: cameras, access control, nurse call, etc.  Will that be detailed in an addendum or future released drawings? See DWG ET-501 Note 13 Is there a need for any type of copper backbone cabling from C-B103 and C-B022A to each TR? Per drawing ET501 several key notes call out for specific part number and manufacturers that differ from products called out in the communications cut sheets provided on SAM.  For example one instance is key note 3 calling out for Ortronics vertical manager MM20VMD706-W while the communication cut sheets packet calls for Hubbell.  Please advise if there are specific manufacturer requirements for all Division 27 components. Per drawing ET504 Detail 5 and 6 say color to be specified by others however Specification Section 27 15 00 paragraph 2.1 calls for stainless steel faceplates.  Please confirm what color/type required. See Spec 26-27-26 2.4 Wall Plates Are there any requirements for pre-term fiber or copper assemblies to tie MDA-1 and MDA-2 to VA OIT network cabinets sitting adjacent to the fiber termination cabinets? How quickly will answers to all posted questions be provided?  Will bid date be extended to allow review time of answers particularly where we don t have counts/quantities on horizontal cabling requirements currently? Short Circuit Coordination & Arc Flash study settings review to be a part of scope? Not in the scope There doesn't appear to be any emergency systems being updated, but if existing would there be a need to possibly conduct a review of it? Not in scope, but if the need arises would be a separate project. Please confirm only building 1 is getting new electrical panels and other buildings are just getting equipment off existing panels. That is correct, only Building 1 will be getting new panels. What is the project construction and turnover schedule? The Turnover schedule will be in accordance with Phasing Plan provided by the GC and based on period of performance (POP). This is negotiable and currently estimate to be about 950 days. Is there any scope within building 5? Drawings do not clearly indicate work being performed. Building 5 is NOT part of the scope. Are there any kind of Building Management System or will all the equipment in scope be local only? This information is outlined in the Specifications. 23 09 23 Are all mini-split units getting a condensate pump? Drawings and schedule don't imply a one for one. There is a one pump per mini split, so one for one.
