- Description
- The Regional Procurement Office (RPO) - East, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for a new contract for DNA sequencing services in continuing support of VA funded research grant for the VA Oklahoma City Healthcare System. STATEMENT OF WORK GENERAL INFORMATION Callout box text here. Drag on the yellow diamond to move the pointer on this box. Title of Project: DNA Sequencing for Mouse Models for Osteoarthritis Background: Oklahoma City VA HCS Research Department requires a service contract for DNA Sequencing Services that the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) Clinical Genomics Center (CGC) advances the experiments proposed in Dr. Jeffries VA funded research grant: Cartilage Microbial Products as Novel Drivers of Knee Osteoarthritis Epigenetic Dysregulation. The CGC at OMRF is the preeminent sequencing facility in Oklahoma that delivers results rapidly and in a cost-effective manner. It is fully equipped to and has a track record of performing all aspects of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) that we require for the successful completion of our projects, including single cell transcriptomics. OMRF s proximity is a huge advantage in terms of sample delivery as well as assistance with data interpretation. There are no commercial vendors who provide this comprehensive level of technical and statistical support; furthermore, direct comparison to our previously obtained results, processed by the CGC, is critical for the success of our studies. OMRF has conducted previous microbiome metagenomic and DNA methylation sequencing that are directly related to our current VA project. It is necessary to continue using OMRF to prevent batch effects present with different companies that would produce serious data irregularities. Scope of Work: 2.1 The contractor shall provide the following: 2.1.1 Library Prep 2.1.2 Utilize NovaSeq S4 300 Cycle Lane 2.1.3 Library QC and Pooling 2.1.4 Utilize NovaSeq 6000, 900M+reads tier 2.2 The government will: 2.2.1 Provide the tissue samples for imaging. Period of Performance: The period of performance (POP) shall be 2 years Tentative POP: 09/30/23 09/29/25 Performance Objectives: 4 .1 The contractor shall: 4 .1.1 Provide precise processing of DNA samples to track record of performing all aspects of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) 4 .1.2 Utilize longstanding experience processing large numbers of human DNA methylation samples using Illumina EPIC arrays. 4.1.3 Obtain DNA sections for downstream processing as well as the collection of data and images using advanced microscopy imaging systems. This is a notice of intent and is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any responsible source who believes they are qualified to meet this unique need may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Monday, September 11, 2023, 11:59 AM EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Millicent Covert, Contracting Officer, at millicent.covert@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
