Description
Laundry Delivery Driver Questions   Page 5: Start and Stop time for both locations. How are we to handle unforeseen delay s that result in late arrivals? i.e. weather, traffic, etc. Notify the Transportation Supervisor or the Laundry Plant Manager. Page 5: How often do they anticipate Emergency Saturday Deliveries? When road conditions are untravellable due to inclement weather i.e.; Icey roads Page 5: Pass-Through and Air Pressure System: Does this apply to the drivers? If we are only performing drop and hook operations than the driver should not be touching the linens in any way? Correct, the drivers will not touch any linen or laundry carts. Page 6: Initial training plan submittal: Is this to be included in the RFP or submitted after award? We need to have this submitted after award and contractor will need government training before operating VA trailers. 5. Page 8: Quality Control Program: Is this to be included in the RFP or submitted after award? Needs to be submitted with RFQ. Page 10: All of section 10: How does this apply to the driver? Are the drivers expected to count every piece of linen to verify inventory? No, the drivers will receive the load ticket from the laundry facilities which in return will the number of linens that is being transferred. Page 12: Weight verification: Who is responsible for providing the driver with the Weight verification? Will this be done on a per cart basis? Do the delivery tickets need to be in a certain format? The laundry facilities, each cart will be weighed, and the laundry facilities has their own formatted tickets (load ticket). Page 12: Verification of Delivery Ticket: Who will provide the quality control checklist? What are the driver responsibilities in the process? The load ticket will be verified at the time of delivery. Page 12 Linen Carts: Will the carts be on Wheels? How will the VA ensure that the carts do not move while the load is in transit? Yes, all carts will have wheels and the laundry facilities will load and secure the carts on the trailers before transit. Page 14: Other Conditions: When are the required documents to be submitted to the VA Transportation Supervisor? After the award process. Will the drivers be required to touch the Linens at any time? No Who will be responsible for maintenance of the Trailer, pre and post trip inspection? The driver will be responsible. For the pre and post inspection and report any and all deficiencies to the Transportation Supervisor. 13. Are security seals required for the trailers? If so, who will provide them? No, they are not required.
