- Description
- Sources Sought Notice NIST-MML-23-SS37 Project Title: Optical Table with Vibration Isolation This is a Sources Sought Notice ONLY. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not receive a response. NIST designs highly sensitive instrumentation for ultra-trace gas detection in the mid and near-infrared. Recently, the gas sensing metrology group has focused on spectroscopy using optical cavities and optical frequency combs. To expand the optical capabilities of the growing laboratory, an additional optical table with vibration isolation is required. Equipment Requirements Optical table with vibration isolation shall consist of one optical breadboard tabletop and four support legs with active vibrational isolation. To facilitate delivery and installation, optical breadboard tabletop may be shipped as either one or two sections. If shipped as two sections, the two sections must be joined at NIST to form a continuous single optical breadboard tabletop meeting all minimum specifications. The optical breadboard tabletop shall be 4 feet wide, 8 feet long, and 1 foot thick (48 x 96 x 12). Optical breadboard tabletop shall have 1/4-20 threaded holes spaced by a center-to-center distance of 1 inch. Optical breadboard tabletop shall have a hole-free boarder region around the edge of the optical breadboard tabletop with boarder width less than or equal to 2 inches. Optical breadboard tabletop shall have top and bottom plates constructed of stainless steel. Top and bottom plates shall be 5 mm thick with a tolerance of plus or minus 2 mm. Optical breadboard tabletop shall have top and bottom plates constructed of ferromagnetic metal material (e.g., stainless steel). Optical breadboard tabletop shall be supported by four active vibration isolation legs. Active vibration isolation legs shall have a height no shorter than 18inches and no taller than 24 inches. Active vibration isolation of each leg shall be performed by pressurized air or pressurized nitrogen (pressurized gas source not provided by contractor). The working height of the optical table with vibration isolation shall be no shorter than 30inches and no taller than 36 inches. Installation is also required. Interested parties shall describe the capabilities of their organization as it relates to the item described above. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large and small businesses. The small business size standard associated with the NAICS code for this effort, 334516- Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing with a small business size of 1000 employees. Please include your companys size classification and socio-economic status in any response to this notice. A?er results of this market research are obtained and analyzed, NIST may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract. Companies that can provide such items are requested to email a written response describing their abilities to erik.frycklund@nist.gov no later than the response date for this sources sought notice. The following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Name, Address, Government Unique Identifier number, CAGE code, and point of contact information of your company. 2. Any information on the companys small business certifications, if applicable. 3. Description of your companys capabilities as they relate to the item described in this notice. 4. A description of your companys previous experience providing the item described in this notice. 5. Indication of whether the item described in this notice are currently offered via your companys GSA Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contracts, Government-wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs), or other existing Government-wide contract vehicles; and, if so, the contract number(s) for those vehicles. 6. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in finalizing its market research. 7. Place of Manufacture: Is more than 50% of item manufactured domestically, if not where is it manufactured? Responses are limited to a total of twelve (12) pages. The responses must be in MS Word format. Pages shall be 8-inch x 11-inch, using Times New Roman 11 Point Font. Each page shall have adequate margins on each side (at least one inch) of the page. Header/footer information (which does not include any information to be analyzed) may be included in the 1"" margin space.
