Special Notice Notice of Intent to Sole Source PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 16, intends to negotiate and award a sole-source, firm fixed price, non-personal services contract with: ROCHE DIAGNOSTICS CORPORATION 9115 HAGUE RD INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46256 ueiSAM: JDMDFEZBYH36 This procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) and FAR Subpart 13.5. The VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in Houston, TX has a requirement for a contractor to provide maintenance and support services necessary to maintain their government owned Roche Cobas 6800 Analyzer System in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. Based on market research and previous acquisition history, it has been determined that the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Roche Diagnostic Corp, is the only source with the qualifications and capability to perform the required services due to the proprietary nature of the system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, quotations, or expressions of interest. Interested parties may submit a letter of interest that demonstrates your firm s technical expertise, certifications, and authorization to compete for this acquisition to include a rationale for why you should be considered. The government reserves the right to vet/verify any documentation submitted with the OEM to certify its authenticity. This notice will be distributed solely through this website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.   Interested parties may identify their interest solely via email to Contract Specialist, Brian Hendren, brian.hendren@va.gov. Late responses will not be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should include the solicitation number in the email subject line.   No telephone inquiries will be accepted nor will phone calls be returned. Only emailed responses will be considered. Information received will be utilized solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is at the sole discretion of the Government.
