- The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) is seeking sources capable of providing equipment maintenance as described below. The purpose of this notice is to gather capabilities and market information pertinent for acquisition planning. The responses to this Sources Sought will contribute to determining the method of procurement and identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME This Sources Sought does not constitute a request for quotes. Submission of any information in response to this Sources Sought is purely voluntary. The Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT VA Austin Information Technology Center (AITC) warehouse is seeking quarterly maintenance on its material handling equipment consisting of one each of the following (five equipment pieces total): Landol Pivot Mast Forklift (Model P40E90D) Toyota Forklift (Model 7FBEU15) Caterpillar Electric Pallet Jack (Model WP4500) Toyota Electric Pallet Jack (Model 8HBW23) Big Joe Walk Behind (Model PDS-30-157-TRI) All equipment is located at AITC, 1615 Woodward Street Austin, TX and all work must be performed onsite. The contractor must be able to service of all five specific equipment models and must provide all service and tools to address repairs and maintenance. Tasks include: Address operator feedback regarding unit performance and any identified noises/leaks. Perform visual/safety inspection including horn/lights, load backrest, fork latches, counterweight monitoring, tires/lug-nuts, fluid leaks/levels, and hour meter. Air clean unit and lubricate to manufacturer specifications. Inspect steering system including raised steer axle and steering box/orbital. Inspect upright/hydraulic system including all rollers, wear pads and latches, lift chains and anchors, upright mounting/racking, lift tilt-drift leaks, attachments, hosing and valves. Inspect electrical system including cables and connections, contactor/solenoid, ground test, motor and motor brushes, and battery discharge. Inspect battery including general condition, battery stops, cables and receptacle, water levels. Contractor shall repair/replace defective items identified in the maintenance check and fill fluid levels, lube, and air pressure to manufacturer specifications. Capabilities Statement and Market Information - no more than three pages Please provide specific information about your company s capabilities and experience servicing and providing regular maintenance and/or repairs on the specific equipment as described above. Also, explain your ability to perform all work at the AITC location in Austin, TX since all work must be onsite.
