Description

The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Videojet Technologies, Inc., 1500 N Mittel BLVD. Wood Dale, Illinois 60191-1073 (Cage Code: 0V0Z6) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The FRC Southeast Naval Air Station located in Jacksonville, Flordia has a requirement to purchase annual preventive maintenance, upgrade to latest industry specifications, and repair services for the two (2) Ink Jet Marking Systems. Videojet Technologies is the only known qualified source capable of satisfying the Government's specific requirements and mission for this procurement. The source has established proprietary rights, limited rights in data, patent rights, copyrights or secret processes in the item or service required. Videojet Technologies will not allow any service company to service their equipment. Using other service companies might not resolve any issues with the marking system if Videojet Technologies will not provide technical information necessary to do the repair and will cause work order delays if repair will take longer than normal. For this reason, the government intends to procure these products on a sole source basis from Videojet Technologies (CAGE Code: 0V0Z6). THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within fifteen (15) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered.�� Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
