- This is a Notice of Intent published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information regarding proposed contract actions. This Notice of Intent is for a proposed award of a sole source firm fixed price contract to the following contractor in support of Biosense Webster Cart 3 and Smartablate System Maintenance Services in support of Northwest Iowa VA Health Care System, 4101 Woolworth Ave, Omaha, NE68105-1850: Biosense Webster, Inc. UEI:LU6KBGZ1A362 31 Technology Dr. STE 200 Irvine, CA 92618 This is done under authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1: Only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Market research revealed that Biosense Webster is the proprietary developer and sole service provider for the Biosense Webster Cart 3 and Smartablate system currently being utilized by NWI VA Health Care System. This Purchase Order shall be for a one (1) year base with two (2) one-year options to extend. The Accelerated Solutions Agreement (ASA) Purchase Order shall provide preventive maintenance service on the CARTO® 3 and SMARTABLATE® systems at MINNEAPOLIS VA MEDICAL CENTER. Additionally, it provides corrective maintenance on the system if it shall be malfunctioning or inoperable at a mutually agreeable time and loaner equipment, when deemed necessary by the Contractor. Training materials shall be provided for base software upgrades that affect user operation of the base software. The ASA shall also provide New Equipment /or New Software. Equipment to be covered by this agreement: CARTO® 3 System Serial Number: 11438 SMARTABLATE® System Serial Number: G4C-2569 SMARTABLATE® Irrigation Pump Serial Number: G4CP-2552 SMARTABLATE® Remote Control Serial Number: G4RC-2561 For the duration of the Agreement, the Government will be eligible to acquire at no additional charge, a single unit of each new hardware or software product, if any, that Contractor makes commercially available for purchase in the United States on or after January 1, 2023 (hereinafter, these products shall collectively be referred to as New Equipment/New Software ). Government elects to reference the Purchase Order for shipment of all eligible New Equipment/New Software upon availability. The Biosense Webster Accelerated Solutions Agreement (ASA) Package for New Equipment/New Software and Extended Warranty of the CARTO® 3 System and SMARTABLATE System (the Agreement ) is a three-year subscription that shall be invoiced and paid in three annual installments. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this service is 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and the Product Service Code (PSC) is J065 (Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Equipment- Medical, Dental and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies). While this synopsis does not constitute a solicitation, interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement, including documentation from the proprietary rights holder Biosense Webster that such contractor could provide this service as an authorized reseller, authorized dealer or third party.
