- Description
- The Navajo Area Indian Health Service, Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC) Gallup, New Mexico, intends to negotiate a non-competitive award to KCI USA, Inc., EIN Number: T3QQPHLGT375, for Lease of Wound therapy system as required by the Gallup Indian Medical Center located in Gallup, New Mexico. Award will be for a base and 4 option years. In accordance with FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B)), KCI USA, Inc is uniquely qualified to provide the required lease of wound therapy system to ensure there is no interruption in services that could have a negative impact on direct patient care. The KCI wound therapy system equipment are manufactured and sold directly by the manufacturer who owns the patent rights, these units are not available from competitive sources. KCI is the only source who can�offer technological updates, technical support and troubleshooting assistance with the level of expertise required to provide the response needed by GIMC-Perioperative Services Department. The abilities of the KCI wound therapy system equipment will allow maximum flexibility within the operating room to provide improved services to surgeons with regard to interchangeability of equipment, which will eliminate space and reprocessing barriers. With GIMC being a Level III trauma center the ability to have maximum flexibility to utilize standardized equipment is paramount to providing immediate care when patients present with emergent, traumatic needs. The standardization of equipment will also reduce confusion with equipment when emergencies present and the amount of time needed to train and maintain competence with current and new surgical and nursing staff. Switching to another source would incur substantial costs and would negatively affect the Gallup Indian Medical Center�s mission. Only KCI USA, Inc. can provide the level of expertise required to meet the Perioperative Services Department requirement. A Solicitation will not be issued.
