- Pre-Solicitation This is a Pre-Solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR A QUOTE (RFQ). VENDORS SHOULD NOT SUBMIT FORMAL QUOTES UNTIL THE RFQ IS POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for the information resulting from this posting. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 8), James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH), Tampa, FL, intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ), Stryker Drill System Upgrade. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is The NAICS code for this requirement is NAICS Code 339113 - Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing with 750 employees. See below specifications: This is a brand name only. SCOPE: Stryker is the only manufacturer capable of providing the equipment described above. Stryker provides unique differentiating features, essential to the facility, that cannot be found or duplicated in any other products on the market. James A Haley VA has existing Stryker powered surgical systems and components which are compatible with the requested system as well all Stryker disposables used with the drill system. Procuring the upgraded Stryker Drill system will reduce the need to purchase redundant equipment and disposable supplies. As an existing Stryker powered instruments user, the training needed to bring James A Haley VAs surgical teams to full competency is lengthy and would cost additional funds to switch to another brand. Stryker is the only vendor that can provide use of all drill systems to cover Orthopedic, Podiatry, ENT and Neurosurgery simultaneously.
