- Description
- Replace Steam Traps (Robley Rex) Solicitation Questions & Answers Amendment 0004 has contradictory information regarding the type of metal for trap components. See Part I.C Project Objectives For all steam traps whose inlet pressure is above 20 psi, all components (traps, isolation valves, check valves, and fittings) must be stainless steel . However, the response to RFI #4 in the same amendment states Can stainless steel steam traps be used in lieu of cast steel for steam pressures 15 psi and above? A copy of the Armstrong model 1811 drawing and bill of materials is attached for reference. Answer: All traps 15psi or above must be cast steel or forged steel, traps below that pressure are to be cast iron. .
