Description

The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought Notice.� As stated in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers, and shall not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.� The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation is issuing this Sources Sought Notice as a means of conducting market research to determine if other companies, besides Northrop Grumman, are capable of manufacturing (or legitimately obtaining) the items listed in the attached workbook, as well as planning/forecasting demand for these items under a Supplier Initiated Ordering (SIO) type of contract vehicle. The attached parts are currently Sole Source to Northrop Grumman and are used on the F/A-18 aircraft. The proposed contract action is for SIO support for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by the Sources Sought response date will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This Sources Sought is for informational purposes only.� This is not a request for an offer.� This does not constitute as a solicitation and shall not be construed as a commitment by the government.� Responses in any form are not offers and the government is under no obligation to award a contract as a result of this announcement.� No funds are available to pay for preparation of responses to this announcement.� Any information submitted by respondents to this technical description is strictly voluntary.
