Questions rfq 36c26124q0156 2 How are service calls to be billed? The Contractor shall submit invoices on a monthly basis in the arrears. Is the contract to be a full maintenance fire alarm contract? Yes, this agreement shall consist of maintenance of the Fire Alarm system consisting of adjustment, calibration, component replacement of the control panel, field devices, UPS, and batteries. Is repair labor/parts to be covered under the monthly invoicing line item? Yes Can the government provide and estimated number of fire alarm service calls annually? Yes Will the awarded contractor be allowed to quote repairing any troubles or system failures that might exist when the contract is awarded? Yes How will the existing fire alarm trouble/supervisory conditions to be resolved? Current contractor to clear all troubles prior to new award. How will existing annual fire alarm deficiencies be handled? Current contractor is responsible for fixing any existing deficiencies prior to new award. Can a type and quantity of devices to be maintained be provided such as smoke detectors, pull stations, heat detectors, duct detectors, FACP,s, Batteries etc ? Can this be provided for each site? The inventory of devices is necessary to understand the full scope of work being requested? Yes Will the inspections need to be performed IAW the latest VHA/TJC Memorandum? Yes Are the fire dampers inspections included in contract? If so please provide the damper count for each site. No, fire dampers are not included on this contract Are the NFPA 80 Annual Fire Door Inspections included in the contract? If so provide the quantity of fire doors at each site? Yes, Fire Doors are function test and operability are included with annual inspections. List of devices can be provided. Will the VA Staff coordinate with the VA elevator contractor to ensure they are onsite for Annual Elevator Recall and Shunt Trip Testing? Can this be performed after hours during the week or weekends. Yes, assigned COR can coordinate or facilitate schedule. When can testing of the audio visuals and door holders be completed? During normal hours, after normal hours or weekends? Testing must adhere to VAPAHCS testing schedule Will the government provide contractor excel version of the previous inspection report data base that is available from building reports? Yes Can you confirm that all inspection reports shall be provided in a VHA/JCAHO compliant format listing all relevant EP standards? Yes Can you confirm all audio/visual and door holders will need to listed individually on the inspection report? Yes Is there a list of existing equipment that is to be inspected? Yes Can Fire Alarm panel equipment reports or past annual inspection reports be provided for the fire alarm device counts be provided? Yes Can the government provide the estimated number of Design Assessment Service we might be required to perform? Yes Please provide an equipment inventory for Building 500, Building 710, and the Monterey Outpatient Clinic. Yes, list can be available upon request Please provide an estimate of the number of new barcodes that will need to be required. Yes We recommend a repair bucket of money assigned by the VA. This would allow for an apples-to-apples comparison of proposals and prices, reducing risk for both the Offerors and the Government. Contractors would submit quotes for repairs to be approved by the COR prior to repairs being completed. We recommend this amount be published after the award. Not authorized. Exact quotes for parts and services are required for approval prior to disbursement of funds Regarding the statement in the scope that the contract is required to contain all water during testing, this is not possible with a fire pump. Does the system have a closed-loop bypass? This would allow no flow testing. Also, if discharge on the ground is necessary for the pump, are we required to utilize dechlorination tabs? The system has a closed-loop bypass. Please provide the most recent inspection reports. Yes We respectfully request a 5-business day extension from when RFI responses are released. N/A How may smoke detectors are at each location? 1482 How many pull stations are there at each location? 845 How many elevators are at each location? 46 Can we get an extension to ensure we get a site visit in (I have to travel from Texas) and have an opportunity to put in additional RFI questions after the Site Visit? N/A Can I request a device list for each of the site? Yes, a complete list of all devices can be provided We're a new SDVOSB starting out and saw this line : ""2.2This work will not be more than 50% sub-contracted without approval from theCOR."" in the solicitation. Can we try to find a company to submit a quote, I just want to make sure we start off on the right track. Because of the repair of critical system problems, the contractor is required to provide a dedicated direct employee to ensure all work is performed with on-site supervision during all work hours.
