- Presolicitation Notice - Liquid Cooled Induction Heating System The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) requires a Liquid Cooled Induction Heating System. This acquisition is 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code of 333992 - Welding and Soldering Equipment Manufacturing with a Small Business Size Standard of 1250 employees. The product service code is 4940: Miscellaneous Maintenance and Repair Shop Specialized Equipment. The Liquid Cooled Induction Heating System will have the following specifications or something comparable to it such as the Miller ProHeat 35. 1) Heating system shall be comprised of a controller, extension cable and liquid-cooled induction heater elements. 2) Controller shall: a) Be capable of either timed or manual temperature control options. b) Operate using 460VAC/60hz/3�, 60-amp maximum input power. c) Have a 35KW (kilowatt) rated output (minimum) at 100% duty cycle. d) Have automatic shutdown in the event of short to ground. e) Include ""Power Available"" and ""Blown Fuse"" indicators. 3) System shall: a) Include an induction cooler with coolant. b) Include a 25-foot (minimum) extension cable length between controller and heater. c) Include an 80-foot (minimum) liquid-cooled heating cable. d) Include a 50-foot (minimum) high temperature rope. e) Include a preheat cable cover that covers entire length of heating cable. f) Include a preheat insulation blanket that covers entire length of heating cable. g) Temperature sensor with connectors and controls. h) Be capable of preheating steel thrust runner assemblies to 200�F (degrees Fahrenheit) within approximately 2 hrs. - The thrust collar is removed and re-installed whenever the thrust bearing assembly needs to be removed or installed on hydro units. - The top of the unit must be completely disassembled and re-assembled (in the reverse order of course) whenever major maintenance needs to be done on the thrust bearing. - The collar is heated up to expand it prior to coming off and going onto the main shaft of the unit. - These collars are never replaced but re-used for the lifetime of the unit. i) Include a cart or wheeled running gear. 4) Controller, extension cable and heaters shall be electrically insulated with sealed electrical connections. 5) 1 day of manufacturer's training to be conducted at Grand Coulee. Up to 10 employees, manufactures general user training. Reclamation intends to award one firm-fixed-price contract. The anticipated date to issue the Request for Quote, 140R1724Q0025, (written) is approximately the first week in March 2024. The anticipated closing date is the third week in March 2024. The anticipated award date is the first week in April 2024, but all dates in this notice are subject to change. Prospective vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to the closing of the solicitation. Any amendments applicable to the solicitation will be posted at the same site. This product will be purchased in accordance with FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, simplified acquisition procedures apply. The Government will evaluate quotes based on factors listed in the solicitation.
