Specifications: Includes: ? Venue Go R4 Package: ? Wideband Phased Array Probe ? RS Linear Array Probe ? Wideband Convex Array Probe ? Lung Sweep ? Real Time EF ? Venue Go AC adapter ? Venue Go Cart Equipment Needs: One Venue Go R4 Package Justification: The Venue Go R4 Ultrasound (US) machine will be used during Central line training of physician residents, and training for ultrasound guided peripheral IV in nursing. The current machine is outdated and no longer functionable to offer quality training. This ultrasound machine will be a replacement as well as mimics the machine the physicians are currently using, allowing standardized training across multiple service lines. Borrowing similar equipment from other units takes away from patient care and leads to potential delays. Ultrasound simulation is an evidence-based method of instructing learners how to acquire, interpret, and integrate ultrasound imagery towards medical decision making. Functionality of the Ultrasound includes visualizing through simulated task trainers to identify specific area on simulated body part to establish or perform a procedure. Performing procedures on task trainers prevents patient harm and expedites the procedures at the bedside when performing on patients. The Ultrasound helps clinicians and Providers view anatomical locations in the body prior to using a needle or scalpel to insert equipment for patient monitoring/functioning. These procedures include central line placement, Lumbar Punctures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, thyroid biopsy, ultrasound guided peripheral IV, can be used on the manikin with RFID chips to visualize lung fields, cardiac area, and more. This machine will primarily be used in the simulation room to provide training to clinicians and providers.
