- Description
- Questions and Answers: The statement of work calls out to install, re-install or replace nurse call devices. The drawings do not show any work or locations of the nurse call system. Are they new or existing? If existing are we to reuse the existing devices? There are existing nurse call devices in conduit boxes along with new installation of conduit boxes for nurse call devices. On page AS102 the location of the conduit box with cover is the approximate location of the devices, this will have to be field verified upon start of work and installed according to the TIL. The (1) new device installation is not a part of this project, only the conduit, box, and cover, the (2) existing nurse call devices shall be removed, protected, and reinstalled in their original positions. The Drawing AD102 (Ceiling Demolition Plan) has three note details, but it does not note any removal of the existing drywall ceiling. Is the existing ceiling to be removed? The existing ceiling is to be removed and new ceiling to be installed. The company that manufactures the Avonite Nordic #9119 states that it only comes in ¼ thick x 30 wide x 8 long sheets. They do have other colors that will come ¼ x 48 x 8 sheets. Mist is the closes color to Nordic. Is this product satisfactory? There is no specs on the solid surface material. A sample must be provided to the VA for review and approval. If approved then the material can be installed. There will also be a submittal required and reviewed by the VA before material can be install. Submittal will be a PDF detailing the product specifications. The Wall Detail on drawing AS102 shows the solid surface going to the floor. Is this correct or is it to be raised 4 above the floor for the Integral Cove Base? The solid surface shall be placed 4"" above the floor with the resinous flooring creating the integral cove base to meet the solid surface underneath, a bead of sealant shall be placed along the bottom edge of the solid surface prior to the integral cove base installation. See page 3 of this RFI for revised drawing AS102 - Wall Section E7. With the solid surface material being ¼ thick and the drywall being 5/8 thick, the wall are not going to be even. Is a special trim needed or is tear away vinyl trim ok? A bead of sealant provided by the solid surface manufacture to match the color of the solid surface will be placed along the top of the solid surface edge, this sealant shall also be used in the seams of the solid surface. On drawing GI103 (Phasing Plan) the Notes show 10 Phases, but the drawing only shows eight. Please verify. There are 10 phases, see page 4 of this RFI for revised drawing GI103. LIST OF ATTACHMENTS
