- Sources Sought Notice Automated Western Blot System Sources Sought #1135443-SS This is a Sources Sought notice Only.� This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. �This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only as part of USDA ARS market research and does not itself constitute an RFQ. Background The USDA Agricultural Research Service requires an automated western blot system to advance research regarding the improvement of North American Atlantic salmon aquaculture production. The purchase of this instrument is necessary to quantify and detect target proteins with high throughput. This system is essential to protein-based immunological laboratory workflows and must meet all minimum specifications provided below. The unit must be shipped to The New England Plant, Soil and Water Research Laboratory in Orono, ME. Requirements All specifications are based on the requirements for accurate, simultaneous capillary-based immunoassays: Perform capillary-based western blot and immunoassays with as little as 5 uL of sample with protein quantities as low as 2 ug. Supports fluorescence and chemiluminescence detection Has a capacity to provide blot imaging Can run at least 12 samples per run Can complete western blot assays in under 6 hrs per run FOB Destination Shipping must be included 2.0����� Place of Delivery ����������� USDA, ARS, NEA, New England Plant, Water and Soil Laboratory, 8 Greenhouse Rd, University of Maine, Orono, ME 04469. 3.0 ���� Delivery Schedule Items and installation within sixty (60) days after the receipt of the purchase order. Delivery shall be between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excl. Federal holidays. The Contractor Shall: This Sources Sought is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of USDA ARS market research. The Government does not intend to make an award based on responses to this inquiry. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible.�� The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified sources including any Small Businesses; HUBZone small business; service-disabled, veteran-owned small business; 8(a) small business; veteran-owned small business; woman-owned small business; or small disadvantaged businesses.
