- Description
- Introduction This is a Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. Project Summary The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Virology Laboratory (VL) of the Structural Biology Core (SBC), is seeking a Transmission Electron Microscope to help develop antibody therapeutics and to support the design of vaccines and antivirals carried out by the Vaccine Research Center (VAC). Specifically, NIAID, VRC is seeking a transmission electron microscope that can perform the following applications: Need for one (1) transmission electron microscope. This instrument should include the following: Model HT7800 120 kV Transmission Electron Microscope - Modern design digital TEM that does not have binoculars or a film chamber - Next generation high speed CMOS viewing/navigation screen camera - 120 kV maximum acceleration voltage, with guaranteed operation starting from 20 kV variable in 100 V preset steps - 0.20 nm lattice resolution and advanced optimization of contrast - Magnification range from x50-x600,000 - Hitachi's unique ""Dual Mode"" compound objective lens provides both high contrast and high resolution (HC/HR) modes exchangeable by one selection in the software. Changing modes does not require exchanging pole pieces - Pneumatic Gun Lift and automated venting procedure for filament exchange - Integrated high vacuum gauge and gun valve - Independent free lens control - Includes External LAN control - Includes oil-free pre-pumping system and TEM adapter kit - Eucentric high performance stage 5-axis goniometer for ultra-stable operation and tilting - Microprocessor-controlled, differential turbo molecular pump evacuation system to guarantee fast pump-down times and a ultra clean column vacuum - Automatic brightness, focus, and drift correction included depending on camera option - Advanced image navigation and storage of positions, tilt angles and orientations - Microtrace function indicating examined and unexamined areas of the specimen - EMIP software to automatically archive all saved images and imaging data for ease of access/analysis - Includes EMIP-3D tomography system and FBP reconstruction method - Windows 10 operating system - Includes one set of operator's hardware and software manuals LaB6 Filament Assembly - Includes precentered lanthanum hexabroide filament and wehnelt HT7800-MS2 Three Specimen One Touch Single Tilt Holder - High-throughput three specimen holder - Cantilever style retainer for ease of use and quick sample loading - Three grid positions selectable through software for precise and efficient sample navigation HT7800-SS2 One Touch Single Tilt Holder - High-throughput single specimen holder - Cantilever-style retainer for ease of use and quick sample loading Beam Blanking Kit - Provides protection for beam-sensitive specimens by blanking when not collecting images - required for single particle analysis screening applications Pnuematic In/Out Control for Objective Aperture - Automated insertion and removal of objective aperture for seamless transition between low magnification and normal magnification conditions Motorized Z-axis - Software and control panel driven z-height adjustment for efficient eucentric specimen control Haskris Air-cooled Water Recirculator Model LX2 (LX2-A2) - 208/230V - 60Hz - Cooling Capacity: 3,900 watts - Water Pump Capacity: 3.7 GPM (14.0 LPM) - Water Temp. Stability: +/-0.1 degree C - Reservoir volume: 1.3 Gallons (4.9 Liters) AMT NanoSprint15-MarkII High-Resolution, 15 MP sCMOS camera ***TEM 0.204nm resolution may be achievable but not guaranteed in direct-mount position*** - Mounting position: Direct - Sensor Size [pixels]: 5056 x 2960 - Phosphor Pixel Size [um]: 12.75 x 12.75 - Active Pickup Region [mm]: 65 x 37 - Digitization: 16 bit - Optical Coupling: Custom high performance lens - Lens Magnification: 0.34 - Lens NA image: 0.32 - Lens MTF at Nyquist [%]: >70 - Framerate for Display Image [fps]: 30 - Shutter: Rolling - Environment: Electronics & cooling outside of vacuum - Cooling: Water - Exposure Time [ms]: 1 - 10,000 - Certifications: UL, CE , RoHS - Computer OS: Windows 10 Professional 64 bit AMT Nanosprint15-MarkII Camera Modify Kit - Modify kit for Nanosprint15-MarkII Camera - 822-1036 (water cooling connections) is included System and camera installation and basic operational training. Pre-installation onsite room survey is included if necessary. Advanced Applications Training Advanced operator training by an applications engineer. This training is conducted at the customer's location on their newly purchased instrument and customized for their specific samples / needs. This is in addition to the basic operations training provided by a service engineer at time of system 2-day on-site Advanced Applications Training. Anticipated Period of Performance It is anticipated that an award will be made on or about September 23, 2024. Delivery of equipment will be required as soon as possible. Capability Statement/Information Sought If your organization has the potential capacity to provide an electron microscope which meets the minimum salient characteristics listed above, please provide the following information: Organization name, address, point of contact, email address, website address, telephone number, UEI number Type of business (e.g., 8(a), HUBZone, Other than Small, etc.) pursuant to the applicable NAICS code Identification of any Best-in-Class contract vehicles including Government Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) (e.g., GSA schedule, NITAAC) they may possess or are aware of that would support this possible requirement. If your organization does not provide the products/services under a GWAC, please identify availability as OPEN MARKET ONLY. Tailored capability statement addressing the capability of the instrument to meet NIAIDs minimum salient characteristics. Capability document shall be no more than six pages. Place of manufacture for the electron microscope and if applicable, any accessories/components. If the instrument is manufactured or assembled out side of the United States is it TAA compliant ?
