- THIS ACTION IS RESERVED FOR DESIGN-BUILD (DB)/DESIGN-BID-BUILD (DBB) , INDEFINITE DELIVERY/INDEFINITE QUANTITY (IDIQ) MULTIPLE AWARD CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT (MACC)(CONTRACT NUMBERS N4008521D0052,N4008521D0053,N4008521D0054,N4008521D0055, N4008521D0056, N4008521D0057, N4008521D0066). FOR FACILITIES IN THE NORTH AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (AOR) TO INCLUDE CONNECTICUT, DELAWARE, MAINE, MASSACHUSETTS, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, PENNSYLVANIA, RHODE ISLAND, AND VERMONT N4008521D0052- Benaka Inc. N4008521D0053 - CCI Utility and Construction Services, LLC N4008521D0054 - Kunj Construction Corporation N4008521D0055 - Ocean Construction Services N4008521D0056 - PEM-Harkins Joint Venture N4008521D0057 - Tantara Corporation N4008521D0066- J&J Contractors, Inc. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) has approved the upgrading of 3 existing passenger elevators (installed within one rated hoist way shaft)� and 1 existing freight elevator (installed in separate hoist way shaft), as each elevator makes 6 stops. Upgrades/Replacements include all elevator controls including microprocessor controls, hoist machines and motors, equipment, mechanical, electrical, interior cab finishes, security and life safety systems associated elevator equipment at Building 1320 to meet latest code requirements, reduce maintenance costs, improve system reliability and reduce elevator system downtime.� Scope of work includes Hazardous Materials abatement and disposal, all requirements for proper oil handling, storage of equipment, and existing elevator components removal and disposal requirements as all EV plans must be approved by NSN EV Dept. prior to start of work. As the building will remain occupied and operational during construction, one passenger elevator must remain in service at all times. The contractor must provide 2 hour shaft wall separation from the operational passenger elevator in existing hoist way, and around each public elevator lobby area, while the other elevators are under construction. The Contractor must provide all construction phasing, construction schedules, and construction site plans for Contracting Officer, NUWC and NAVFAC CM approval prior to start of the work. The scope of work includes all coordination and travel requirements with NAVFAC MIDLANT VTE Specialist/Inspector from Virginia and NAVFAC MIDLANT Fire Protection Engineer from Pennsylvania as each elevator nears completion, all contractor construction and installation approvals and acceptance is required by NAVFAC MIDLANT VTE Specialist/Inspector from Virginia and NAVFAC MIDLANT Fire Protection Engineer from Pennsylvania. Multiple site visits by VTE and FPE are required throughout the phasing of the work. The scope of work includes design of all construction phasing/outage requirements during construction and includes the provisions temporary 2 hour rated/dust proof/sound proof barriers to protect building occupants, equipment, and surfaces to remain on all building levels, in all areas where the work is to be performed. All work to be performed as indicated on the drawings and specifications. Perform factory startup of existing elevators and all elevator equipment,� and provide all testing/reporting of working condition of all existing elevators and equipment prior to start of work. Perform all required final testing/reporting of all systems noted in the scope of work� and any necessary repairs as required to verify work for final NAVFAC VTE and FPE approval and acceptance.� Refer to Construction Site Plan for proposed laydown area. Contractor access to existing FACP in adjacent new addition secure area requires NUWC escort. Refer to NUWC FAD escort requirements. All outages/utility cutovers and any required after hours work require minimum 14 days� notice and require NUWC and NAVFAC CM approval prior to outage and after hours work
