- The purpose of this acquisition is for two Transmotion TMM4 Multi-Purpose Stretcher-Chairs to be used in the RADIS-CT IV room at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center (CC). ������������ Product Service Code: 6515 � Medical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies ������������ NAICS Code: 339112 � Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing ������������ Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 USA POTS: 24-011976 Description: This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. �A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price purchase order to Acuity Medical, Inc, located at 103 Gibralter Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401, on a firm fixed price sole source award basis to provide Transmotion TMM4 Multi-purpose stretcher chairs to the CC RADIS-CT IV room. Below is a description of the item(s): Description: TMMF with Manual Folding Footrest Catalog #: TMM4PLUS-FA Units: Each Quantity: 1 Description: TMMF Wide with Manual Footrest Catalog #: TMM4PLUS-WFA Units: Each Quantity: 1 Description: TMM Side Table with Cushion Catalog #: TMA165-15 Units: Each Quantity: 4 Description: TMM Patient Tray � Stainless Steel Catalog #: TMA141-15 Units: Each Quantity: 2 The proposed vendor, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, is the only source available to provide the Transmotion chairs with features required by the CC. This type of chair was selected because it is the only electronic chair that can be used a stretcher or chair position while stationary or during transport. The TMMS Multi-Purpose Chair is also the stretcher-chair with the smallest footprint and the only one that will fit in some treatment rooms in the CC.� This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.� Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
