AMENDMENT 0006 0007 8/7 & 15/2024: 3.4 Power Distribution requirements: 3.4.1. Equipment shelter electrical feed: 3.4.1.1 Provide 200-amp single phase service to new equipment shelter from the existing 100-amp meter (Currently only feeds AROS system). QUESTION:How would we get 200 amps from a 100-amp meter. Should this read to install a new 200-amp meter from existing utility transformer and then feed to new 200 amp service panel at new shelter? If so, what is distance from utility transformer to new meter location? ANSWER:Yes. Install 200 ampmeter at the current100 ampmeter location. 3.1. Acquire all measurements and permitting for this project. 3.4.2. ASOS electrical feed: 3.4.2.1 Power array will be fed by a 30-amp breaker feed in the new equipment shelter breaker panel as per ASOS drawings. 3.4.2.2 Power array will be installed outside in the vicinity of the new equipment shelter. Power array components will be installed per ASOS drawings. QUESTION:What is the distance from the shelter building to the power array? ANSWER:3.1. Acquire all measurements and permitting for this project. 3.4.2.3 Power tie-in will be done at an existing pull box (or new pull box) located in the vicinity of the new equipment shelter location. QUESTION:Please clarify this statement. Per above, we are to pull 200 amps from an existing ( or new?) electrical meter to feed a new breaker panelat the equipment shelter. The new breaker panel should have a 30-amp breaker feeding the new power array stand. Where does an existing or new pull box fit into this scenario? ANSWER:There are existing pull boxes along the existing power run from the old airport building to the ASOS equipment on the airfield. Power will need to be tied in at one of those pull boxes to the new power array. Please read the background in the SOW for a better understanding of the scope. 3.4.3. AROS electrical feed: 3.4.3.1 AROS will be fed by 100-amp breaker feed from the new equipment shelter breaker panel. QUESTION:Where is AROS, and what electrical connections are required? We have a sketch detailing the ASOS power array, but nothing detailing the components being connected for AROS. Is it all existing equipment in an existing location just being connected to a new power feed? ANSWER: It is an existing structure. Please reference drawings and SOW 3.4.3.2 Power tie-in from old equipment feed to new equipment shelter will be done somewhere on existing power run to AROS. A pull box will need to be installed as there is currently no access point. 3.4.3.1 AROS will be fed by 100 amp breaker feed from the new equipment shelter breaker panel. 3.4.3.2 Power tie-in from old equipment feed to new equipment shelter will be done somewhere on existing power run to AROS. A pull box will need to be installed as there is currently no access point. QUESTION:Similar question as above. Are we essentially intercepting the old feeders for AROS and re-routing them to the new storage shelter breaker panel, with existing connections at the AROS equipment to remain intact and reused? ANSWER:Yes 3.4.3.2 Power tie-in from old AROS feed to new equipment shelter must be done between twice-daily synoptic balloon launches. Questions regarding plan 6 Electrical equipment mounting frame at sensor group QUESTION:Is this detail the power array being placed outside of the new equipment shelter. ASOS? 3.4.2.2 Power array will be installedoutsidein the vicinity of the new equipment shelter. Power array components will be installed per ASOS drawings. QUESTION:Note 10 and 11 describe MC cbale being direct buried in the earth, This is not code compliant. Is a code compliant direct buried cable preferred, or conduit and wire?Prefer conduit, but the requirement is being code compliant QUESTION:Note 10 and 11 describe (2) separate circuits leaving the power array. One with 6-gauge wire, and one with 10-gauge wire. Are both circuits intended to originate from disconnect switch D?ASOS and AROS will be powered by separate circuits. Power array, #10 is for ASOS equipment and #6 is for AROS and will come from the breaker box located inside the new equipment shelter. QUESTION:Note 10 and 11 describe new circuits extending to RXY 20 glide slope facility, and to sensor group DCP these notes also refer to plans 3,4 and 5. Can we get access to plan 3,4 and 5? How far from the power array are these two other locations? What wiring is required once the circuit are extended to these locations?Access to site is difficult as it is unmannedand would have to be planned. Will not need measurement from DCP as we will not be doing any work in that area. RXY 20 glide slop facility is not where we will be picking up power preferably. 3.1. Acquire all measurements and permitting for this project. AMENDMENT 0005 8/1/2024: The questions DUE BY DATE has been extended to August 15, 2024 and the QUOTE DUE DATE has been extended to August 20, 2024 10 am. ANSWER: Must be one single unit QUESTION: For the automatic transfer switch, will this be inside/outside? ANSWER: Inside next to the 200 amp breaker box. Reference SOW QUESTION: And service rated? ANSWER: I think the question is if the transfer switch needs to be rated to the same capacity as the electrical service at the site. If we spec a 200A breaker box are we also specifying 200A service? If so, then I think the question is should the ATS support 200A? Even with the generator, the shelter will come with an auxiliary power input. QUESTION: Shall this be Camlock or Appleton style? ANSWER: Either. Must meet code for that particular system i.e. electrical or fuel. QUESTION: Is there a grounding spec like R56 to follow?
