Description
P09 PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT & SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Salient Characteristics and PWS BRAND NAME OR EQUAL TO Millipore Milli-Q IQ 7005 VA Bedford Healthcare System requires a wall-mounted, ultrapure and pure water filtration system to provide point-of-use water for specific laboratory demands including immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, biochemical assays for DNA and RNA, and mass spectroscopy. The commodity/equipment shall include a PURE and ULTRA-PURE water dispensing unit that produces filtered water directly from a tap water source with a typical water production rate of 5L per hour and variable flow water dispensing. The volumetric water dispensing should deliver a specific water volume, from 20mL to 100L automatically (with 1 mL incremental). The ultrapure water system shall utilize Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology where pump pressure is temperature and resistivity compensated to keep water production rate constant, and the system shall ultilize Electrodeionisation (EDI) technology to ensure constant pure and deionized water which is required for our HPLC, immunocytochemistry and DNA/RNA assays. Space Specifications: Due to laboratory space and bench to ceiling constraints, the footprint of all components must not exceed 35 H x 50 W x 30 D. The ultrapure water system will utilize a low-voltage DC pump which will generate less than 52 decibels of sound at one meter from the system for virtually silent operation. Electrical and Water Specifications ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS: .120V MINIMUM INLET PRESSURE: .1 to 6 bar Other Purification Technology requirements: Water system has a UV lamp with emission at 265 nm to inactivate bacteria. For safety reasons and hazardous waste management this is preferably a mercury-free lamp. Water system also uses a UV lamp with emission at 172 nm to reduce remaining dissolved organic contamination and destroy bacteria, thus reducing background noise in all assays. For safety reasons and hazardous waste management this is preferably a mercury-free lamp. Additionally, storage tank has a UV lamp with 265 nm emission to inactivate bacteria and prevent biofilm formation within the system at all times. For safety reasons and hazardous waste management this is preferably a mercury-free lamp. Storage tank has an electronic overflow sensor and pressure sensor to allow the system to run afterhours as needed when water is depleted at the end of the day without risk of flooding. System will have 3 point-of-use filters for additional bacteria control and removal of larger biological structures, pyrogens, endotoxins, RNases, DNases and proteases. Pure (Type 2) water production requirements: Point-of-Use Water Delivery Flow Rate up to 2L/min Pure Water Resistivity (M .cm at 25°C) > 5 Microorganisms (cfu/mL) < 0.01 Particulates < 0.22 m (/mL) < 1 Pyrogen Levels (EU/mL) < 0.001 RNase Level (ng/mL) < 0.01 DNase Level (pg/ L) < 4 TOC (ppb) < 30 Ultapure (Type 1) water production requirements for DNA/RNA/ELISA assays: Point-of-Use Water Delivery Flow Rate 0.05 to 2L/min UltraPure Water Resistivity (M .cm at 25°C) 18.2 Microorganisms (cfu/mL) < 0.01 Particulates < 0.22 m (/mL) < 1 Pyrogen Levels (EU/mL) < 0.001 RNase Level (ng/mL) < 0.01 DNase Level (pg/ L) < 4 Proteases (ug/ml) - <0.15 TOC (ppb) < 5 The commodity/equipment is compliant with the USP regulations, and the water purification system can report the resistivity and conductivity in both temperatures compensated and non-temperature compensated formats. The contractor providing the commodity will include the purification filters/lamps/tablets and mounting brackets for the system and storage tank for initiation. The contractor providing the requirement/commodity shall also provide installation, on-site training on set-up of protocols and analysis, unlimited instrument and assay and remote technical support. The contractor providing the requirement/commodity shall provide 12-months maintenance and service following the first-year warranty, one preventative maintenance visit per year and discount on replacement parts for emergency repair. Deliver within 8 weeks after receipt of order (ARO). Include all shipping charges.
