Description
VA NEW YORK HARBOR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM PATIENT SERVICES STERILE PROCESSING SERVICE Manhattan Campus 423 East 23rd Street New York, NY 10010 STATEMENT OF WORK Endodry Drying and Storage System Brand name Only Steris Corporation Introduction/Background Three Medivators Advantage Plus Automatic Endoscope Reprocessors (AERs) are being installed in the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) at the Manhattan Campus of VA NYHHS in April 2024. This request is for Endodry scope drying and storage cabinets (to include installation, assessment, training, etc.), accessories (e.g., scope hookups and transport cassettes and lids), and transport carts, that are needed for use with the Medivators. Requirements The purpose of this procurement is to obtain several items for use with the Medivators Advantage Plus AERs being installed in SPS Manhattan. Endodry Advantage Cabinets: Once endoscopes are high-level disinfected in the AERs, they will go into the Endodry, which is an endoscope drying and storage cabinet that promotes efficient drying of internal lumens and external surfaces and provides protected endoscope storage while minimizing the handling of endoscopes. A constant flow of fresh compressed filtered air: flows through the scopes stored in cassettes in the cabinets which helps to eliminate residual moisture and reduce microbial growth inside the scopes and assists with the drying endoscopes within one hour for the internal channels and three hours for the external surfaces. The cabinets can store high-level disinfected scopes for up to 31 days and can be locked to secure the endoscopes. Transport Cassettes: The Advantage Transport Cassettes are compatible with the Medivators Advantage Plus AERs being installed in SPS, and the Endodry cabinets and Cleanascope Advantage Transport carts being requested as part of this procurement. The endoscopes can be placed into these cassettes which are compatible with all the other equipment being used in scope reprocessing. After use, the scope is put into the cassette, which is placed in the transport cart. Once in SPS, the cassette is withdrawn and put into the AER for high-level disinfection. From there, the cassette can go into the drying cabinet for drying and then into the clean transport cart to be taken to the point of use once more. These cassettes help to prevent cross-contamination and decrease the potential for scopes being damaged since they minimize handling of the scope. Two-year Gold Contract Endodry Cabinet: A comprehensive, all-inclusive service contract for the seven Endodry cabinets. All parts, pieces, and labor are included. Various scope hookups as listed in the table below. These hookups provide the critical connection between the endoscope and the AER. The hookup designs are validated for proper flow to provide high-level disinfection of critical endoscopes and accessories. The hookups are particular to the endoscopes being reprocessed. The hookups below are needed to connect the Olympus scopes in use in GI and the OR at the Manhattan Campus to the Medivators AER for high-level disinfection and to the Endodry cabinet for drying. Two sizes of the Cleanascope Advantage transport carts: three, six-tray carts and one, ten-tray cart. These carts help protect the endoscopes by minimizing direct handling and reducing contact with airborne pathogens. After processing, the scope in the transport cassette is placed in the reusable tray in the Cleanascope cart which minimizes the need to handle the scope once it is high-level disinfected. It is then covered with a lid. The Cleanascope trays accommodate large endoscopes. The Cleanascope carts provide an effective way to either temporarily store endoscopes or to transport them between SPS and GI and/or the OR suite for reprocessing or storage in the Endodry Cabinets. Transport Cassette Advantage Clear Lids: These lids are needed to protect endoscopes from damage during transport, keep high-level disinfected scopes ready for patient use, and prevent cross-contamination from debris on used scopes during transport. Installation of the Endodry Cabinets: Seven business days are included for installation in SPS (five cabinets) as well as in the GI area (two cabinets). This includes assessing the space where the Endodry cabinets will be installed to ensure cabinets are properly installed in GI and SPS. Training for the SPS and GI staff is included in this item. All of these items are necessary for use with the Medivators Advantage Plus AERs and must be compatible with these reprocessors. The items requested must have the characteristics described herein. An exact match to the items below is requested.
