Description
This is a sources sought notice as a means of conducting market research. The USDA APHIS is seeking all interested sources capable of providing High-density Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Genotyping for Porcine (Invasive Feral Swine) with an Illumina or Equal Bead Array Platform. The USDA APHIS is considering the use of a firm fixed price purchase order/contract. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 541380 Testing Laboratories and Services. The size standard for this code is $19,000,000 for determination of small business status. Product Service Code is 6640. The specifications for the product are as follows; The performance requirements are as follows: Illumina SNP Beadchip or Equal Beadchip (i.e., identical genotypic data as produced with an Illumina array) Quantities: -1500 (EA) ILMN GGP PorcineSNP80 or Equal High Density SNP Genotypes -2588 (EA) Extractions -1088 (EA) ILMN Porcine V3 or Equal Technical Requirements: 1) Genotyping must be with a high-density Illumina or Equal Beadchip array for Porcine, returning a minimum of 60,000 autosomal loci, as described above, 2) DNA extraction from feral swine samples (diverse sample types but generally pinna preserved in silica beads), 3) Samples submitted on a flexible schedule but generally every two weeks with the sample volume balanced over the short-term and full 1-year contract period to reflect the dynamic needs of the government, 4) Results returned through a secure data delivery portal in a timely manner (generally within 4 weeks of sample submission), with invoices against the established contract submitted on a monthly basis. Purpose: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) - Wildlife Services (WS) - National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC) Genetics Project has a need for High-density Single Nucleotide Polymorphism genotyping services for Porcine on an Illumina Beadchip or Equal Array Platform, returning a minimum of 60,000 autosomal loci. Ongoing genotyping needs of the Government will require data generation from the equal/same chemistry used on Illumina Beadchip array to maximize the continuity with the existing dataset. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There is no solicitation currently. This is only a sources sought notice for market research purposes; responses will be used to determine whether this requirement may be set-aside for small business or procured through full and open competition. Electronic responses are required. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding their submissions. Interested parties who provide this product in accordance with the specifications provided are invited to submit a response to this Sources Sought Notice no later than Tuesday, September 10th at 12pm PST.
