- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price purchase order to Transnetyx, Inc. on a sole source basis. In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the services for the requirement listed below. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the NIH, National Eye Institute (NEI) intends to acquire from Transnetyx, Inc. for DNA extraction and multi-gene analysis for rodent tissue samples. Genetic monitoring services will also be acquired. The Transnetyx online bioinformatics database is currently the only software that can interface directly, with an existing Government database known as Softmouse (Iseehear Inc.) which holds existing genotyping data. Transnetyx also allows for the direct exportation of genotype results into the Softmouse database. Interface between Softmouse and Transnetyx genotyping services eliminates transcription errors while simplifying work processes for vivarium staff. The database will be provided and hosted by the Transnetyx . All DNA extraction and PCR assays and analyses must be completed by Transnetyx within 72 hours after receipt of samples. The database must be password protected and must meet Section 508 standards, even though the database shall not be available to the public. All shipping and courier related costs to send and receive samples, as well as shipping containers/packages, will be provided to the Government as part of the service to be provided. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that believes it can fulfill the requirement as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates the ability to satisfy the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) days afterthe date of this notice unless the Government determines that another company has the capability to satisfy this requirement. Responses to this notice must have the notice ID #SS-NIH-7077027 in the subject line of the email. Please email responses to zetherine.gore@nih.gov no later than 12 p.m. EST on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
