Description
The Department of Veteran Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8 (NCO 8), Tampa, FL, issued an award no. 36C24824P2459, Central Maintenance & Welding, Inc., for in support of James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH) at 13,000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa Bay, Florida 33612. This procurement is a sole source for an urgent and compelling need. The scope of this emergency procurement is to provide emergency repairs (to include replacing) the thermal refractory on all three (3) fire tube steamed boilers located in Bldg. 39. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary services, equipment, labor materials, supervision, tools, testing, and any required specialty services to successfully perform the Boiler System Repairs. The repairs will be sequenced in a manner where one boiler is repaired at a time, beginning with the boiler showing the worst refractory cracking and spalling. Once repaired, each boiler will then undergo a startup sequence required to fully cure the ceramic material to prevent future premature failures. Without the properly operation of the boilers, and the risk of a boiler failure, is imminent. Significant health care operations will have to stop. The JAHVH may lose the ability to produce steam. The boilers are also required to help maintain proper temperature and humidity along with surgical sterilization. Making this a high risk and cause a devastating effect to patient care at JAHVH The period of performance (POP) will be for 12-months beginning on 9/9/2024 through 9/8/2025. The type of contract is a Firm-Fixed Price. This Justification for award is posted in accordance with FAR 6.305 to the Business Opportunities website (https://www.sam.gov) on September 23, 2023. The NAICS Code is 238190, Other Foundation, Structure, and Building Exterior Contractors, small business size standard $19 Million. The Contract award has determined to be fair and reasonable price. Interested sources for future opportunities may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency as Market Research. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of quotes. No specific response to this justification and advisory (J&A) notice is required at this time. No potential quoter list is maintained. All potential Small Business quoters should register with SAM if interested in future acquisition. No additional information is available other than what is noted herein.
