Description
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is issuing this Sources Sought as a means of conducting market research to identify resources and capability to assist the DHA Deputy Assistant Director for Medical Affairs (DAD MA) in continuing to ensure annual renewal of application and accreditation fees for specialty-/subspecialty-specific Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs of the Military Departments. This renewal is required for accredited DoD residency and fellowship programs to remain compliant with ACGME Institutional Requirements. This notice is being issued largely pro forma to ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). ACGME is the only known accreditation body for GME. Description: The DoD must ensure that each of its ACGME-accredited programs is in substantial compliance with the ACGME Institutional, Common, specialty-/subspecialty-specific Program and Recognition Requirements, as well as with ACGME Policies and Procedures. Section 749 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 (Public Law 114-328) established and implemented a process to provide oversight of the GME programs of the Military Departments. The ACGMEs accreditation model and processes ensure and improve the quality of graduate medical education in the United States. This in turn assures the public that todays residents and fellows are learning and training in a setting that is preparing them to deliver safe, high-quality medical care today and in their future practice. The ACGME Common Program Requirements are a basic set of standards (requirements) in training and preparing resident and fellow physicians. These requirements set the context within clinical learning environments for development of the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to take personal responsibility for the individual care of patients. In addition, they facilitate an environment where residents and fellows can interact with patients under the guidance and supervision of qualified faculty members who give value, context, and meaning to those interactions. There is NO solicitation at this time. This request for capability information does NOT constitute a Request for Proposals (RFP). Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the Government assumes no financial responsibility for any information or costs incurred. All costs associated with responding to this notice will be solely at the interested partys expense. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued.
