Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District (SAM) intends to place a brand name specification into solicitation W9127825R0019 in accordance with FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to the requirement. This request is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. It is for information only and is not a request for proposal (RFP) or announcement of a solicitation. The purpose of this notice is to understand the market for alternative suppliers of the items listed below. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all information received by the date indicated in this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to include this proposed brand name specification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Contracting, is conducting a market survey to identify alternate sources for certain Receptacles for relocating existing equipment. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, anticipates a future procurement for the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Temporary Transportable Housing Unit (TTHU) Inspection Building (IB), in Selma, AL. The Scope of Work for this project shall include the construction of an IB (11,980 SF) at the FEMA Site in Selma, AL. The IB shall be a Pre-Engineered metal building with insulated metal wall and roof panels. The IB shall be designed and constructed with a motorized gantry (manlift) system to reduce inspection time and increase inspection efficiency. The IB shall also include two (2) Inspection Bays with a 6�-0� deep full-length Inspection Pit in each bay, and four (4) motorized Overhead Doors. It is the Government�s intent to specify LPI, Inc. Brand Name LPOHAH-1428 3-Axis Electric Gantry Type Manlift System. The system is an electric overhead gantry, telescoping personnel lift comprised of a bridge assembly that will travel lengthwise on a crane type rail which will be mounted on gussets or suspended from building structure situated on the vertical building supports. The bridge will span the width of the bay and travel lengthwise along the guiderail (approximately 140'). The spanning bridge will include a powered truck assembly that will convey a telescoping mast back and forth across the width of the booth. The telescoping mast will raise and lower the operator platform. The controls to operate the lift in all three axes of movement will be located in the operator platform and there will be a control tether along one side of the lift bridge, hanging down from the bridge, that will allow for raising and lowering the operator platform from the ground level. The movement of the lift will allow an operator to move completely around, and over the top of, a product that is approximately 14' wide x 13'-6"" high x 74' long and provide for approximately 24"" clearance between operator platform and side of product. General: -Raised platform height approx. 14'-2"" with approximately 14' - 0"" clear under platform when fully raised -Lowered height 14"" -Operator platform 24"" x 24"" with 43.5"" high guard rails, 4"" high toe boards -One 18"" self-closing, self-latching entry gate. -Operator platform capacity 300# -Platform floor steel diamond plate -Power Requirement: 480 3-phase 60 hz Est 10Amps -Power Supply to lift, to be provided by others. Design TBD -Control panel will be mounted on the gantry Respondent firms shall provide: Manufacturer's name and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) if applicable. Product data and written statement of the ability of firm�s alternative product to be used in place of the referenced product above for the equipment specified. The written statement of compliance shall include necessary backup design information and supporting documentation. A list of projects in which the manufacturer has met similar requirements for similar applications shall be provided. The list shall include the exact location of project(s) and a point of contact with phone numbers. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this notice nor return the data provided. Responses should be sent to eric.j.hurtado@usace.army.mil and chanda.d.strenth@usace.army.mil no later than stated response time. No other forms of transmission are requested or will be accepted.
