- Requirements CLIN 0001: service (Qty 4) CLIN 0002: service (Qty 4) CLIN 0003: service (Qty 4) Looking for experienced companies�that can provide service and repair of washing and sanitizing equipment used in animal research facilities, hospitals and laboratories. Experienced in animal care equipment maintenance, service, rebuild and repair washing and sanitizing equipment.� Emergency service available. Regular required maintenance of machines to function properly as well as offer repair if required. Machines covered are required to wash and provide a clean environment for research animals used at the facility required by �GUIDE LABORATORY ANIMALS FOR THE CARE AND USE OF Eighth Edition� to maintain AAALAC certification. Must be able to perform at HELD Facility. This request is for the purchase of a maintenance agreement for ONSITE equipment at CDC-Morgantown animal facility in Morgantown, WV. �Lynx Tunnel washer, Lynx Rack washer and Beta Star Autoclave that includes service visits quarterly. Every service call shall consist of Inspection of all listed equipment, corrections or adjustments shall be made as required and any faulty or broken parts will be replaced. �Emergency service calls to be provided within 24 hours.� Animal cages and equipment is a vital component of the animal research facility.� Thorough washing and disinfection of laboratory animal caging is essential for any research facility, as described in our primary guidance document, The Guide for the Care & Use of Laboratory Animals, 8th edition (the Guide), which states �washing times, conditions and postwashing procedures should be sufficient to reduce levels or eliminate vegetative forms of opportunistic and pathogenic bacteria, adventitious viruses, and other organisms that are presumed to be controllable by the by the sanitation program.�� It further states that mechanical washers are recommended for cleaning quantities of caging and movable equipment. The purchase will include a one-year maintenance agreement covering all labor and replacement of any faulty parts in 4 quarterly visits performed on the onsite Lynx Tunnel washer, Lynx Rack washer and Beta Star Autoclave. Maintain good working condition for equipment utilized in the animal facility. Equipment is essential for the health and safety of the research animals. Need to be able to service equipment in an effective, timely manner. This is a piece of equipment designed with a very specific purpose that provides our scientists and animal care staff with reliably sanitized caging, racks, etc.� For example, by regulation, the final rinse temperature must hit 180oF.� Inadequate sanitization will lead to serious downstream consequences for all of us who are performing or supporting groundbreaking research with valuable animals.
