- Description
- The United States General Services Administration (GSA), Public Buildings Service (PBS) issues this public announcement seeking interested office Privacy Pods/Booths Vendors qualified to participate in the Center for Integrated Solutions Workplace Innovation Lab (WIL) initiative. Participating Vendors shall enter into a bailment agreement (see Attachment A, Sample Bailment Agreement_Pods) to supply Privacy Pods/Booths (up to 2 units maximum) to GSA for a period not to exceed 12 months from commencement of testing. All interested Vendors shall submit product specifications, any applicable examples of research & development. Any required WIL alterations must meet building code requirements such as Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standard (ABASS), HVAC, lighting and fire safety requirements. Background: GSA is creating a new workplace lab located within GSA's Central Office (1800F) located at 1800 F Street, NW in Washington, D.C. The WIL will embody cutting edge design and innovative environments to experiment a range of alternative workplace solutions for the future. The lab will explore the opportunities for federal agencies to shift to a hybrid model of work and real estate portfolio in which the space design and technology seeks to provide an equitable experience of collaboration; both for those physically within the office as well as those collaborating virtually. The WIL will serve as a living tool that demonstrates GSAs ability to positively influence agencies in creating effective and contemporary workplace strategies. Federal tenants across the National Capital Region (NCR) will have the opportunity to utilize the space on both an individual basis, or as a collaborative group. Tenants may use the WIL as a coworking model in order to test new products and directly participate in further refinement of product specifications, standards, and workplace environments which will assist GSA in the development of future specifications and standards. The WIL will explore the use of shared work points and a range of agile workplace settings, such as interactive and focus spaces that possess a range of acoustic and visual privacy to meet the occupants workstyle and job functions. It is highly encouraged that the pod/booth solutions offered are easily re-configurable and/or moveable. A key component of the lab environment will be the use of technology solutions, which may include sensors/reporting systems in order to collect data for various research initiatives. Participating vendors will also be encouraged to propose to GSA any integrated in-house or partner technology solutions which may be useful in measuring related data. In addition, tenants who utilize the WIL will be encouraged to respond to periodic surveys which details their individual experience of utilizing the space. This real-time and end-user feedback is instrumental to the success of the WIL testing environment. Project Description: The current iteration of the WIL will occupy approximately 7,500 usable square feet, located on the 7th floor of the building at 1800 F St NW, Washington DC. Vendors products do not need to be on the GSA schedule or GSAs FIT program, however products provided must be TAA Compliant in accordance with FAR 52.225-5 Trade Agreements. The Vendor may choose to partner with other manufacturers to provide a range of innovative products, features and/or equipment contributing to the WIL. At GSAs discretion, the Vendor may have occasional escorted access to the WIL for tours, photography, videography and informational signage. Specific Details of Item(s) Sought and Additional Considerations: The current WIL suite design will accommodate two pods total, of which at least one must meet the accessibility standards of ABAAS compliance. Interested vendors should identify which, if any, of the proposed pod units meet these accessibility requirements. Vendors may offer one or two units for consideration and should identify the maximum number of units that are proposed. For example, a vendor may propose one pod total for the WIL, but can provide the WIL team multiple pod options for consideration. Alternatively, the vendor may offer up to a total of two pods from a larger list of available pods for consideration. Requirements: Maximum internal footprint dimension of 24 square feet Freestanding design Glass door Acoustical interior lining Attached work surface Power and USB outlets LED lighting Ventilation system activated by an occupancy sensor Pods will not be connected to the existing building fire suppression systems and do not require a standalone fire suppression system integrated into the units. Product specifications should include recommended spacing/distance clearance from walls and ceiling. Amendment 0001 (12/13/2024) - Addresses all questions received, and answers to those questions in response to this announcement. The Q&A document is attached with this updated posting. In addition, the due date to receive responses to this announcement is extended to 04:30 pm EST, December 27, 2024.
