- Description
- The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center-Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) has a requirement to procure maintenance services for the existing Evoqua Deionized (DI) water system. Services include routine inspection and maintenance in the form of tank and filter changing every four months for a one-year period of performance and two one-year option periods. ERDC-CERL intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Evoqua Water Technologies LLC in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). DI water systems from Evoqua Water Technologies LLC s were installed at CERL over a decade ago. As the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Evoqua is the only vendor capable of adequately maintaining their systems and providing the necessary filter and tank exchanges. Failure to provide such exchanges to keep DI water available to the research programs going on within the CERL lab puts those research programs in jeopardy. Evoqua DI water system feeds water directly from available water lines without additional treatment at pressures up to 10 bar. To improve safety and maximize research dollars, water purification systems are used to supply water free from impurities that is used in large quantities for making media, buffers, and other solutions critical to research. The presence of system in the lab allows for on-demand water purification and is cost effective as researchers do not need to purchase expensive commercial ultrapure water. Because of these reasons Evoqua Water Technologies LLC is the sole source for this procurement. This is not a request for proposal and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. This is not a small business set aside. Any interested party that believes they can fulfill this requirement should submit a capability statement to be reviewed. All submissions will be considered, however there is no guarantee that submissions in response to this notice will in any way alter the Governments acquisition strategy. Please provide responses to this notice, no later than the date and time listed at the top of this posting, to: CERL-CT-QUOTES@usace.army.mil Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses to this notice will not be considered as a response to any solicitation, a request to be added to a prospective offerors list, or to receive a copy of any solicitation. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
