***INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE-*** � � Estimated Date of Award: January 3, 2025 Synopsis: � � The Department of Veterans Affairs, Columbia, South Carolina intends to make a direct award to Geomed, Abiomed s exclusive Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) representative for Abiomed Impella CP, part number 4000021, Description: Impella CP with Smart Assist Heart Pump & Companion Sheath Bundle Includes: (1) Purge Cassette (1) 14Fr Introducer Sheath, 13cm (1) 14Fr Introducer Sheath, 25cm (1) Placement Guidewire, .035'' x 150cm (1) Placement Guidewire, .018'' x 260cm (1) 7Fr Low Profile Companion Sheath, in accordance with FAR 19.1406. Location is the Atlanta VA Medical Center, 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033, United States. The contract is expected to be awarded under FAR Part 13. A Limited Sources Justification has been prepared. Abiomed is the only supplier of this catheter which is used during high-risk cardiac surgical procedures. The Atlanta VA purchased the Abiomed Impella Controller and is in need of replacement catheters. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) (1)(ii), Soliciting from a Single Source. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing with a Small Business Size Standard of 800 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, Contractors may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the contracting officer whether to continue with the sole source procurement or to provide for competition. Such responses MUST be received no later than January 3, 2025, at 10AM EST. Interested parties are encouraged to furnish information by email only with Response to Intent to Sole Source for Abiomed Impella CP in the subject line. All documents submitted will not be returned. All interested parties shall submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating their capabilities to satisfy the requirement listed to forward responses by e-mail to Contract Specialist, Shanique Littlejohn, Shanique.littlejohn@va.gov.� Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 7 will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice of intent. Only written responses will be considered. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this notice of intent, the Government shall determine if a solicitation will be issued. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award. �
