Description
The Veteran s Administration (VA) Office of Research and Development, Regional Procurement Office East in Pittsburgh, PA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Azenta Life Sciences based in South Plainfield, NJ on behalf of the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. The requirement is to provide Sanger Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) sequencing for planned medical research studies. The specific work to be performed includes Sanger DNA sequencing. The purpose is to determine DNA sequences of lab samples for research purposes. Overview: The VA Ann Arbor research lab is requesting Sanger DNA sequencing for laboratory generated DNA. The purpose is to determine DNA sequences of non-human samples used for research purposes. The lab will send DNA samples to the contractor. In addition, the laboratory may provide mixed DNA primers for customized sequencing or request standard primers provided by the contractor. The DNA will be shipped from the VA lab to the contractor by courier. Deliverables: The contractor shall perform standard DNA sequencing at a rate per sample and will report sequence data to the lab via a password protected site. The contractor shall sequence DNA received from the VA Lab, specifically utilizing the Sanger Method, to break down the non-human DNA sample to ensure the quality and type are exact. The contractor lab will use primers to attach to the DNA to break it down and verify its quality. The sequencing is expected to be completed and responses available through protected electronic portal for the VA within two (2) business days after vendor receives the samples. Security: The following training is required through the VA Training Management System: TMS 20939 GAP privacy, or TMS 10203 training is required on an annual basis. The requirement will take place at the contractors facility and the VA facility in Ann Arbor. The sole source is pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
