- Services: 1. Develop and implement, under the supervision of Dr. Greg Light, internet recruitment materials for a VA-based Psychiatry Research Residency track for PGY-IV Residents, including a website and web-based video featuring VA Psychiatry researchers.� � Coordinate the review of the 180-200 annual applicants to the Psychiatry Research Residency Track, the invitations to� � interview the 20 top candidates emphasizing VA MIRECC mission-congruent research interests, the interview schedule to include VA Psychiatry faculty, the generation of an applicant rank list for the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and the recruitment of the top applicants. � 2. Develop and implement, under the supervision of Dr. Greg Light, a MIRECC-supported VA-based Psychiatry Research Residency track for PGY-IV Residents. This program will engage 1-2 PGY-IV Research Residents per year in MIRECC-based research activities focused on schizophrenia and other serious mental illness in Veteran populations.� 3. Develop and implement, under the direction of Dr. Greg Light, a VA-centric curriculum for PGY-IV Research Residents, to educate them in career development paths for future VA-based physician-scientists.� � 4. Develop and oversee educational enrichment activities for these MIRECC Research Residents, including MIRECC program retreats, targeted career development lectures, presentations at national scientific meetings, grant writing workshops and grant submissions. The primary goal of this position is to sustain and expand the pipeline directing Psychiatry research residents into careers in mental health research and service for Veterans.�
