TITLE: Notice of intent to award a sole source, one time firm fixed-price contract to Evacusled, Inc. via GSA FSS Contract #47QSWA23D008Z. SOL: 36C24225Q0721 DUE: 06/12/2025 SET ASIDE: N/A NAICS: 339113 POP STATE: 30 Days ARO AGENCY: VA Healthcare System, James J. Peters VA Medical Center, 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, NY 10468. Email: Jonatan.rondon@va.gov DESCRIPTION: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO Evacusled, Inc., 29 Rangemore RD, Toronto, ON M8Z5H8 for its Evacusled brand of emergency evacuation sleds for the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) (1)(ii), Soliciting from a Single Source. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing with a Size Standard of 800 employees. Requirement: The contractor shall provide the emergency evacuation sleds that meet the following specifications and requirements. The contractor shall also provide training, maintenance, and support services as detailed below. The evacuation sleds must be designed for use to move individuals with moderate to severe mobility impairments. The equipment must be capable of safely transporting individuals down flights of stairs and across flat surfaces. The sled must be lightweight, durable, and easy to operate by a single person, including during vertical evacuations. The equipment must comply with all relevant safety standards and regulations. Adjustable safety straps to secure the individual during transport. This should include a head immobilization strap or similar mechanism to protect patients who have spinal issues. Integrated reinforced ergonomic handles for ease of use by the operator(s). Device should have rigid spinal protection panels or boards. Device should have integrated internal padding to protect patients during rapid evacuations that will include stairwells. Non-slip tracks or wheels for safe descent on stairs. Foldable design for compact storage. Weight capacity of at least 300 pounds for non-bariatric and 325+ pounds for the bariatric model. Clear instructions for use printed on the equipment or straps should be color coded or labeled in sets for quick deployment during an emergency. Head end and foot ends should be labeled or identified. No solicitation document exists, and no telephone or email inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available. The government may consider all Expressions of Interest received prior to June 12th, 2025. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
