Description
DESCRIPTION The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) intends to negotiate a contract with the Association of Linen Management, on a sole source basis, pursuant to the FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION (FAR) 13.5 under the authority of: 41 U.S.C. 1901, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to procure membership coverage and test-piece service for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities with laundry and non-laundry processing capabilities. SCOPE The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Healthcare Environment and Facilities Programs, Environmental Programs Service has a requirement for the Association for Linen Management (ALM) to provide membership coverage and test-piece service for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities with laundry and non-laundry processing capabilities. The contractor shall administer certifications in health care laundry management disciplines to include: Certified Laundry and Linen Manager (CLLM) Registered Laundry and Linen Director (RLLD) The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 611710 Educational Support Service is most appropriate for this requirement. The Association for Linen Management (ALM), established in 1952, represents, educates, and provides technical services for the nation s hospitals and health care organizations in the institutional laundry field. With some 1,000 institutional and personal members, ALM is committed to helping hospitals meet health care needs of their communities and serves as the primary advocate in Washington, DC and other public policy forums. ALM is recognized as the most authoritative and comprehensive source of textile care health care information and data. The VA educates environmental management service personnel through ALM and the American Laundry Linen College located and established through Eastern Kentucky University. Through the national VA ALM membership tuition expenses for VA students are reduced resulting in cost avoidances to VA. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting capability statement (to meet the requirements) to this office no later than July 30, 2025, at 12:00 pm EST. Costs associated with preparation, submission, and follow-up information requests are the submitter s responsibility. The Government will not reimburse for any associated costs. Telephone responses will not be accepted. The determination to conduct competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely the Contracting Officer s discretion. If no responses are received or responses are reviewed and determined non-responsive, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement.
