Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) is searching for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business vendors with the capabilities to provide tree removal services to the Tomah VA in Wisconsin Brief description: Contractor shall perform complete tree removal for thirteen large, emerald ash borer infested, green ash trees in high traffic areas near historic buildings throughout the Tomah VA Medical Center Naics code 561730-Landscaping Services will be used. Ensure a safety perimeter and redirect flow of pedestrian and auto traffic. Trees must be removed using lift bucket trucks, cranes, and taken down in pieces to ensure safe and predictable control for removal of parts. No climbers. Ensure safe removal and proper rigging for control of all branches, trunks and pieces to protect historic buildings, landscaping, powerlines and structures at site. Remove safely all tree parts: branches, leaves, bark, wood chips and debris, stumps, and large FboNotices to a point six inches below the ground. Disposal with documentation of all tree parts in accordance with municipal, county and state regulations. Ensure clean area after job is done with all stumps, parts, and debris removed. Owls or migratory songbird nests that may be protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act will be reported and work stopped until corrective measures can be established by CO or COR. Potentially sensitive cultural or historical artifacts discovered will be reported immediately to CO or COR and work stopped until next steps can be established. Site appearance will be assessed at the end of each day, with debris removed and larger logs and limbs removed to a safe area or removed from site. In addition to adherence to OSHA General Industry Standard (29 CFR 1910), ensure adherence to tree care industry standards ANSI Z133.1 for tree removal and related activities. Identified hazards include: Falls Struck-by objects Contact with energized power lines identify power line hazards and have marked before performing work. above-ground power lines underground power lines To be considered all interested, responsible sources must submit a capability statement to include the following: Company Experience in providing services as described above, to include number of years and any examples of current contracts in place with government or commercial entities; Customer point of contact information for contracts listed in company experience along with a description of equipment serviced under the contract; Verification of authorization and training related to servicing referenced equipment; Number of qualified maintenance personnel employed; UEI number, organization name, organization address, point of contact, business size under the above listed NAICS, and socioeconomic status; This Sources Sought is issued solely for information and planning purposes to determine availability of qualified vendors and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this Sources Sought that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Please note that this is not a request for proposal and the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. The Government may or may not issue solicitation documents.
