- Description
- The Department of the Interior, Interior Business Center, Acquisition Services Directorate, intends to award a sole source contract on behalf of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge, for the procurement of a boom mower system compatible with the Bobcat T870 skid steer. The Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge utilizes a Bobcat T870 for vegetation and brush-clearing operations necessary for habitat management and facility maintenance. To expand the utility of this equipment, the refuge requires a boom mower system that is fully compatible with the Eterra V5 Raptor Boom Attachment and 48 Cyclone rotary brush cutter, which includes the following critical specifications: Compatibility with existing Bobcat T870 hydraulic and electrical systems Interchangeable head options (rotary, flail, and sickle) Extended reach capability suitable for roadside and embankment clearing Heavy-duty construction for demanding brush-clearing applications Integrated electronic control package Direct-drive rotary cutting head The system must integrate seamlessly with current equipment to avoid additional retrofit costs, performance issues, or warranty complications. This notice is issued in accordance with FAR 5.201. Skid Steer Solutions is uniquely qualified to fulfill this requirement, as they are the sole distributor offering the full Eterra system with all required components and verified compatibility with the Bobcat T870 platform. Other reviewed vendors either lack required components, cannot meet compatibility specifications, or would require custom fabrication not supported by the manufacturer, resulting in unacceptable risks and additional costs. This notice serves to announce the Governments intent to sole source this requirement and determine if any other sources exist. No solicitation is available at this time. Interested sources with the demonstrated capability to meet all of the technical requirements outlined in this notice are invited to submit, in writing, sufficient documentation demonstrating their ability to fulfill the requirement. Responses must include clear and convincing evidence that competition would be beneficial to the Government and would not be cost or schedule prohibitive. This Intent to Sole Source is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or obligation on the part of the Government. Respondents are responsible for appropriately marking any proprietary information. Responses will not be returned. An electronic acknowledgment of receipt will be provided. If a response is not acknowledged within one business day, please contact the Contract Specialist to confirm receipt. Contract Specialist is Fariha Natawn, contact information is fariha_natawan@ibc.doi.gov.
